Summer Program: For five weeks PNMC works with a group of 30 young women ages 5-13. We have themed curricula for each age group. Some topics we have incorporated are hygiene, conflict resolution, confidence, peer pressure, appearance, speech and articulation. We focus on these topics 3/5 days of the week. The other two days are devoted to photo shoots and runway preparation which help t
he girls with their confidence. Throughout this process bonds are being formed between Modeling Coach and child. The models also exercise for a total of 4 hours every week to stay in shape physically. We utilize different methods every day to keep the girls engaged, from Hip Hop Abs and Taebo to basic warm up exercises. We strive to make the experience as fun as possible. Fashion Show: For our end of the summer showcase we have a large fashion show. People from the community are invited along with the friends and family members of our Models and Modeling Coaches (MCs). The models were able to keep all donated clothes and accessories. A hair and makeup team is assembled for the day of the show. We also have many volunteers to help out back stage with the show and prepping the models. The Fashion Show is what the models have worked towards. The show is the ultimate place for these young women to display their confidence and to be bold and beautiful. The girls practice their public speaking by addressing the crowd and speaking about what they learned during the summer.
