It’s which means we’re sharing some positive stories of families who recently stayed at Ronald McDonald House ❤️

The Mak family went home after 15 nights! When their identical twins were born prematurely, these first-time parents faced much uncertainty. Our Springfield House with its home-like charm and friendly staff was able to provide this family with stability and peace of mind.

At our New Haven House, The Attwoods returned home after 54 nights! While their fraternal triplets were in the NICU growing strong, they found solace in a stressful time while being able to visit their newborns directly across the street at Yale New Haven Children's Hospital

We pride ourselves on being able to provide comfort and care to families during some of their most difficult times, and it always warms our hearts to see these families go home!

June is National Dairy Month and we want to recognize Hood for their support of our families every week!

Hood Milk has been a partner of Ronald McDonald House for decades and makes sure that our refrigerators are always stocked with milk and orange juice for our families. Together, we ensure families can have daily access to nutritious products each day. Thank you Hood!

This week on our wish list: laundry detergent pods!

In our two Ronald McDonald Houses, we provide all the comforts of home including plenty of washers and dryers for our families to use – all free of charge! By helping us provide families with laundry pods, you are helping us remove one more thing parents need to think of while focusing on their children.

A recent mom shared how doing laundry in the evening for her hospitalized newborn gave her the ability to feel a purpose and provide an additional layer of motherly love for her child – ensuring there were clean clothes and baby blankets each day. Your contribution will help provide a moment of normalcy to families.

Every Ronald McDonald House family's journey is unique and special. What remains true through each family's journey is finding a place that feels like home and the ability to lift daily burdens to allow parents to focus 100% of their love and energy on their children.

Stephen and Jeff found themselves unexpectedly over 2 hours from home, awaiting the birth of their twin sons. Born at 33 weeks, the children needed support in the NICU for two weeks, leaving Stephen and Jeff wondering where they would stay and how they could be close.

"That first night, we slept in the hospital, unsure of where we would stay in the days ahead.

The next morning, we met with a social worker, who connected us with the Ronald McDonald House. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Allan, the Guest Services Manager. We were immediately struck by the comfort and care of the House. It seemed to have everything we would need for an extended stay away from home: a comfortable bed, a kitchen, and both shared and private spaces where we could rest and regroup.

For the next two weeks, we visited the NICU every day, often multiple times a day. Staying at the Ronald McDonald House allowed us to remain close to our sons without the added stress of worrying about lodging costs during an already overwhelming time. We were first-time parents navigating the uncertainty of the NICU while being far from family, friends, and the familiarity of home."

Earlier this year, Ronald McDonald House CTMA was proud to learn Emily Brady, our Chief Development Officer, was selected to participate in the Advancing Leadership Program offered to Ronald McDonald House employees throughout the world.

This week, Emily spent time with the group learning and sharing best practices in Chicago. While her work with the group spans many months, this special week provided an opportunity for face to face connections with her peers and the ability to learn from industry leaders.
