The West Haven Public Library is developing a strategic plan to help guide their libraries in the years ahead. They would love to hear what you enjoy, what matters most to you and what you’d like to see from your library in the future.

Your input will help them understand the community’s needs and priorities as we plan for what comes next. Please complete one survey per person. Survey period ends on November 13th.

Across the United States, people are using the arts to help others heal, connect, and thrive: in hospitals and hospice rooms, in clinics and community centers, schools, studios, and homes. It is significant, growing work, and this field has never been fully counted or described.

The U.S. Arts in Health: State of the Field Project is a series of comprehensive, national research studies. This is a shared effort that belongs to everyone doing this work. The first study is the U.S. Arts in Health Census which is a national survey documenting who does this work, how it is practiced, and how it is funded. A State of the Field Report and associated resources will turn the Census findings into the first national portrait of arts in health. Future terminology research will draw on the field's own words to build shared language for defining and describing this work.

"The Hangout—a third space for high school teens—is open every Tuesday & Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm. No need to sign up, just come on over!

We’ll have a cozy spot just for high schoolers, snacks, instruments, video games, art supplies, and more. Teens can drop in and out, jam, record music, or work on creative projects.

Swing by any Tuesday or Wednesday between 3 and 6 pm. Free for all high schoolers — you don’t have to be NMS-affiliated to hangout with us!
