It's baaaack! Maxim Schmidt and Martha Willette Lewis from The Gallery Upstairs at The Institute Library (847 Chapel St, New Haven) would like to invite any artist participating in any weekend of October Open Studios to be part of "Glorious Index!"

Each artist may submit one small work for this exhibit, which will serve as a visual index and will run from October 1 - December 5, 2026. There will be an opening party October 1st 5-7 p.m.!

A year after losing their longtime home at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art (ECoCA), members of the group are putting out a call for new members, in an appeal that is directly tied to their survival.

Some summer magic right here! Thank you as ever to the staff and mentors at ConnCAT for inviting us to see the amazing work their students are doing during a six-week summer program! Our hearts are so full!

In final performances on Thursday and Friday at ConnCAT’s new Dixwell Avenue home and the LAB at ConnCORP, students had a chance to show off what they’ve learned, from multi-media visual art to music, theater, poetry and dance.

Apply for the Know Your Neighbors Fund!

The Know Your Neighbors Fund provides $200 micro-grants to New Haven residents with ideas to bring their neighbors together to meet, connect, and build lasting relationships.

Examples of previously funded projects include new clubs and meetups, shared meals among neighbors, cleanup crews, a new Parent-Teacher Association, and more.

The Know Your Neighbors Fund is an initiative of Civic Works and applications are due September 30th; any New Haven resident can apply here.

Yes yes yes!!! Abiba Biao, thank you for reporting on Black Wall Street in New Haven! We are so proud that this gorgeous festival is now in its fifth year!

Held on the Green, where it has been for the past four years, the day-long event marked an extraordinary feat of Black entrepreneurship and arts and culture in the Elm City and across the state.

Magic!! A big big shoutout to our youth arts journalist Karina Gonzalez for this gorgeous story about The Blueprint, a fashion show curated at CITA Park by the one and only Strizz during the Black Wall Street Festival. Catch it here!

The music shook the floor as the MC Slay Washington moved along to loud electronic music, making The Blueprint Fashion Show officially a vibe.

New Haven Pride is taking place on October 3rd, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This Wednesday! To close out the 2026 Twilight Concert Series, the Pardee-Morris House is proud to offer the rootsy soaring harmonies and red-hot picking of Amy Gallatin and Stillwaters. Gallatin and resophonic guitarist Roger Williams will be joined on mandolin and vocals by Roger’s son, Berklee College of Music grad, JD, and veteran bassist Bob Dick, formerly of bluegrass band Front Range and founder of New England’s Blackstone Valley Bluegrass.

This event takes place outdoors — please bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy a picnic on the lawn. In case of inclement weather, check our Facebook or Instagram for updates.
