Our members are fundraising for Black Visions Collective, Rebuild Lake Street, Reclaim the Block, and NAACP Legal Defense Fund. We want to emphasize that our community intends to use the Pi Phi organization’s privilege only as a platform to amplify these organizations’ efforts and call attention to their work. We aim to call upon both our chapter and our national organization to do better. Our members have shared on their Instagram stories opportunities to donate. All that we ask from you is how much we can Venmo request you for, and your Venmo handle.
Some of our members have also compiled a reading list with information on the many ways you can take action through donating, petitioning, protesting, and remaining informed. Continue to show up and continue to educate yourselves. Do not leave it up to your Black peers to explain to you the gravity of the current state of this country—it is no one’s responsibility but your own. To make this material even more accessible, we have included screenshots of the document on our Instagram highlights. We encourage anyone reading this who is not Black to hold themselves accountable, and engage with the resources that have made readily available to you.
