Fellowship Place Our agency serves over 750 adults on a campus community in New Haven, CT, open 365 days a year.

The mission of Fellowship Place is to serve adults living with mental illness by offering a full range of therapeutic support and rehabilitation services that promote independence, wellness, and a meaningful life. The majority served suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, or major depression. In addition to the challenges faced in managing their illness, they also struggle with unemployment

, the risk of homelessness & poor physical health. The agency is a multi-purpose center where clients may receive a variety of supportive services in one location to improve quality of life and general health. Fellowship’s programs complement traditional psychiatric services by providing opportunities for clients to structure their day, learn new skills, and form positive relationships. On any given day of the year, more than 175 people visit the campus for help with basic needs, meals, socialization, skill-building groups, job training & career development services, case management, expressive arts programs, computer classes, physical recreation and more. The agency also provides supportive housing for 45 individuals who live in our apartment buildings located near the main campus.

Fellowship Place celebrated Mental Health Awareness month on May 13 with a recognition ceremony for program participants who secured employment, or who completed a job training program or college-level academic program over the last year. This annual event highlights the agency’s work to help individuals living with mental health problems become more independent. More than 50 individuals were honored by their peers and staff.

On April 29 Fellowship Place joined with members of the non-profit community from across Connecticut for a rally at the State Capitol. Our group advocated for improved funding and better access to mental health services. Some from our group were able to speak very briefly with the Governor. Way to go, Advocates!

Music, exercise, and social connections help improve our clients’ mood, concentration, and organizational skills.

Santa made a surprise visit to Fellowship Place's holiday celebration on 12/23. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with caroling, presents, great food, and, of course, “fellowship.” Thanks to Kolmar Americas, The Guilford Congregational Church, and members of the Board of Directors who helped make the event a special day.

Join Fellowship Place in congratulating the latest graduating class for HOPES, an evidence based group which teaches skills that help older adults living with mental illness cope with the challenges of aging. The goal of the group is to help older adults live independently and successfully in their own homes. HOPES is funded in part by the Agency on Aging of Southcentral CT.
