Oh my goodness what a day it has been! Our contacts let me know this morning that they no longer had room for our donations 😫 so I have been scrambling and stressing, trying to find contacts. I tell you what. These people I have been speaking with are absolutely amazing and so sweet! A truck load will be delivered to Bybee TN for people who are currently cleaning and tearing flooring and drywall out of their homes. Another load will be taken to Lake Lure NC tomorrow. One of the HARDEST hit areas. Because the roads are still destroyed and it isnt safe to drive through there at night, The couple we are speaking with will be letting us all stay at their church. They were going to make us dinner, chicken and dumplings 🤤, but we won't be in until 11pm. So much relief now compared to 6hours ago. 😌

Last day is today to drop off your donations! We are planning on leaving tonight or early tomorrow morning. You can drop off at Debs until 2pm, any of the Shelby schools until 230, or contact me and you can drop off at the Shelby EMS base while we are there. Thank you everyone!

I have had many people ask where we are donating and the short answer now is, I don't know. Originally we were donating and helping out around Newport, but with so many volunteers and donations, people are getting the help they need fairly quickly considering the damage done. Which is AMAZING! I want to focus on the areas who still have had little to no help, and with us still being a week out, I'm hopeful volunteers will have more roads and bridges partially repaired so we are able to get into those harder to reach areas. I have a few different churches, contacts and volunteer groups I am communicating with as the needs in the area change day by day. I will keep everyone updated as I learn more!
