We are really looking for something to do this something this summer that will have a big impact - particularly for our Union kids.

To my knowledge, there is no food program for the summer for Union kids.

I'm trying to get a solid idea to provide lunches this summer. My initial thought was lunch at the park. We would get the funding/sponsorships. I would see if Mancini's would be willing to be the presenting sponsor (Subway) by providing subs at a discount (6 inch). We would get the chips and water from Sam's Club. We would take care of all other logistics, we would just need volunteers to serve the lunches. Depending on the amount of volunteers would depend on how many days we do it (3 or 5). My husband and I both work full time jobs - we would serve on any day that we are off. One concern would be getting kids there, espicially if they are on their own.

Another idea would be some sort of delivery option where people would sign up and have the lunches delivered.

I'm looking for any idea that you may want to share. Please feel free to private message me or text me.

We've been quiet - but have done stuff in the background! We sourced another complete bedroom set for a teen who didn't have one.

Looking ahead, trying to come up with something for the kids in the summer and/or before back to school. I was thinking of haircuts for boys and girls and something like a picnin in the park.
