We had the honor of recognizing a few remarkable Lions who have demonstrated their dedication to the New Braunfels Evening Lions Club and those we serve. While each Lion has made a significant impact on our club, fellow Lions, and neighbors. We wanted to take a moment to recognize those whose unique or grand contributions stood out among their peers.
Over and above: Roslyn Even and Sharon Kemp
The Over and Above Award honors individuals whose dedication and generosity exceeded expectations in service to our club. Through their hard work creating new vests for our members and a special custom vest for one of our Lions' children, they demonstrated exceptional thoughtfulness, craftsmanship, and commitment.
Queen of Wurstfest: Chere Billings
The Queen of Wurstfest Award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication by volunteering to work every shift in the club's Wurstfest fundraiser booth. This award honors their commitment, reliability, and significant contribution to the success of one of the club's most important annual fundraisers.
President's Plaque: Barry Waldie
The President's Plaque is presented to the outgoing president in recognition of their leadership, dedication, and service during their term. This award honors the time, effort, and commitment they invested in guiding the club and advancing its mission throughout the year.
Special Recognition: Kim Ha and Sharon Kemp
This recognition honors members who were nominated for a district-level award within Lions Clubs International. The nomination reflects the respect and confidence that fellow Lions have in the recipient's leadership, character, and commitment to service.
Appreciation Award: Bob Fly and Bob Oldham
The Appreciation Award recognizes an individual for their years of dedicated service and unwavering commitment to our club. It honors the leadership, guidance, and contributions they have made while serving on the Board of Directors, helping strengthen our club and its impact.
Lion of the year: Bob Oldham
Lion of the Year is one of the club's highest honors. It recognizes a member whose outstanding service, leadership, participation, and commitment have made an exceptional impact on the club and the community throughout the year.
Melvin Jones Fellowship: Mary LeFebvre
The Melvin Jones Fellowship is one of the most prestigious honors in Lionism. Presented through the Lions Clubs International Foundation, it recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary humanitarian service and dedication to the mission of Lions as recognized by their peers.
