Because of the generosity of United Way of Southeast Mississippi and the support of the Perry County School District Education Foundation, 13 members of the Class of 2026 received assistance through our Senior Success Initiative!
This grant was designed to help graduating seniors overcome barriers as they transition into college, career training, or the workforce. Thanks to this funding, every student who applied for assistance received support.
Funds were used to purchase items tailored to each student's next step, including college dorm essentials such as bedding, pillows, towels, laundry supplies, mini refrigerators, Chromebooks, and hygiene items, as well as career-readiness supplies including steel-toe boots, tool bags, work gloves, hand tools, nursing equipment, backpacks, and other job-specific necessities.
We are proud to share that all 13 applicants were funded, helping ensure that our students begin the next chapter of their lives with the tools they need for success.
Even more exciting, funding remains available to support up to 5 additional seniors from the Class of 2027 through this initiative. More information will be shared in the future.
Thank you to United Way of Southeast Mississippi for investing in the future of Perry County students and helping turn postsecondary plans into reality!
