We ask that everyone take a moment today to remember our sweet boy on the day that he passed away three years ago. February 2, 2023 was the day that cancer stole Juno from us. Please pray for our hearts today - we are really hurting. I miss you and love you forever, Juno Augustus Wolff.

If you purchased a ticket for our Steelers raffle, this is what you helped make possible. Today, we were able to donate $2,500 in gift cards to families spending Christmas inpatient with their child who is bravely battling cancer at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. We chose Target because it is the closest store to the hospital and families have a variety of choices whether they need essentials, groceries, or presents for their kiddos.

Being there today was especially meaningful, as it marked the anniversary of the day Juno received his devastating diagnosis of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor. To be able to bring even a small measure of comfort and support to families like ours during a season that so sharply highlights the contrast between cancer life and a world that gets to enjoy the holidays in peace, meant more than we can express.

We are deeply grateful to every person who helps us carry Juno’s memory forward through these acts of love. It means the world to us that you are part of Juno’s light continuing to shine in a world that so often feels too cruel and dark.

Seeking input from Bereaved families:

Tomorrow I’m meeting with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s bereavement social worker to talk about how Juno’s Rockets might come alongside local families in their care and in their grief.

As a bereaved parent myself, I know how support needs change over time, and how many needs go unmet, even years later. I would love to listen and learn from you.

If you’re willing to share:

• Is there anything you wish a bereavement outreach program had done or said for you, whether in the early days or long after the world moved on?

• Is there anything that was said or done that you wish hadn’t been?

• Any other thoughts you’d want those supporting bereaved families to keep in mind?

Your insight could help shape something meaningful for future families.

Thankful for the Latrobe Bulletin for supporting our cause and spreading the word! What a nice story on the blood drive. And a HUGE thanks to everyone who came out to donate blood that day - they collected 23 units which can help up to 70 local area patients!
