We want to express our deep appreciation to LaRoche University Director of Athletics Katherine Golebie and Director of Clinical and Health Services Ryan Klingensmith for facilitating the opportunity for us to return to LaRoche. Our last visit was in November of 2012, and it was truly meaningful to be back.

Their leadership in addressing the topics most affecting our youth today is paramount. We are also incredibly grateful to the student body for their respectful demeanor and heartfelt compassion.

It is our hope that the information shared empowers students with the courage to move forward boldly in becoming a positive force for change within their families and communities.

When smartphones and social media first exploded around 2010, something concerning started showing up online.

Kids were posting about depression.
Some were sharing images of self-harm.
Others were posting about eating disorders.

For the first time, young people could watch mental health struggles unfold in real time on social media.

That raised an important question:
How would kids learn the difference between healthy information and harmful influence?

Now the situation has changed again.

Kids are not just seeing mental health content online anymore.

They can ask AI direct questions like:

• How can I kill myself?
• How can I cut myself without going too deep?
• How do people restrict calories to lose weight?
• How many pills can someone take without dying?

Many AI systems try to respond safely. But kids are creative, and not every platform has strong protections.

Technology keeps evolving.

First it was websites.
Then it was social media.
Now it is AI.

But one thing hasn’t changed.

Kids still need trusted adults to help them make sense of it all.

We are grateful to Assistant Principal Abigail Longwell for welcoming our Dating Violence Awareness Program to the Cornell School District, and to Guidance Counselor Gina Walter for her dedication to ensuring students receive this vital education. Thanks to Gina’s continued support, 2026 marks our third visit to Cornell! We’re proud to partner with a district that cares so deeply about student safety and healthy relationships.

Today’s assembly wasn’t just a presentation, it was a conversation that was needed. In a room full of teenagers, silence fell not because they were bored… but because they were listening. You could feel the moment it stopped being “another school assembly” and became real.

Teen dating violence isn’t just statistics, it’s classmates, friends, someone sitting right beside you.

Our hope as an organization is that Demi & Jake’s message leaves students with the courage to speak up, make healthier decisions, and use the resources available to them to get help. Every conversation plants a seed, and awareness can save a life. 💜

Our youth are listening.

They’re hungry for honest conversations about teen dating violence. They’re asking questions, seeking truth, and wanting to understand what healthy relationships truly look like.

They are not just the future — they are already on the front lines. When we equip them with the right education and tools, they step up and lead the way in ending teen dating violence.

The message is reaching them. And they are ready.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to present our Dating Violence Awareness assembly at Ringgold High School. What made this experience truly impactful was the students’ response to the information being shared. Their compassion, honesty, and willingness to boldly express how powerful the assembly was reminded us exactly why these conversations matter.

A heartfelt thank you to the Ringgold High School administration, and to Samantha Kane and Alexa Cuccia, who were instrumental in coordinating this program and making it all possible. Your dedication to student safety, awareness, and empowerment does not go unnoticed.

Together, we continue to create spaces where students feel seen, heard, and supported.

Be the Catalyst: Let’s Start the Conversation on Dating Violence Prevention

Dating violence affects individuals of all ages and backgrounds, yet it often goes unrecognized or unaddressed until real harm has occurred. Awareness, early education, and prevention strategies are some of the most powerful tools we have to change that reality.

Our prevention program is designed to:

• Increase awareness of dating violence and its warning signs
• Promote healthy relationship skills and boundaries
• Equip participants with practical prevention and bystander strategies
• Foster safer, more informed communities

We believe proactive education saves lives and empowers individuals long before crisis moments arise.
