"Vitality Movement" Blue Zones Project Vitality Movement - Nevada, Iowa The Governor of Iowa, Terry Brandstad, has set ambitious goals for Iowa – to make it the healthiest state in the nation.

One of the centerpieces of the Healthiest State Initiative is the Blue Zones Project, a collaboration of Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Healthways. Blue Zones are geographically defined areas around the world such as Sardinia, Italy; Okinawa, Japan; and Loma Linda, California, where people reach age 100 at rates 10 times greater than in the United States. We’d like to transform our commun

ity into a Blue Zones Community, where people “Live Longer, Better.”
