URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR MAMA LILY 🖤

This sweet girl is Mama Lily. She was rescued from the Madera Animal Shelter and oh my goodness… this poor girl has already lived through more trauma than most dogs ever should.

Not only did she lose all 9 of her puppies to Parvo… yes, Parvo… but after everything she had already been through, her owners surrendered her to the shelter and left her there to die. I truly cannot even imagine the fear, heartbreak, and confusion this girl has felt. And she’s not even a year and a half old yet.

Since leaving the shelter, she’s been with an amazing foster who has helped her finally start healing. She’s learning what love feels like again. She’s gaining weight, decompressing, feeling safe, and slowly becoming a dog again instead of just surviving.

But now we urgently need help.

We are completely maxed out with the amount of dogs we can responsibly care for right now, and we desperately need either a foster or adopter for Mama Lily as soon as possible.

Food and vetting will be provided through Fight For Paws and she will be getting spayed. We just need someone willing to open their heart and give this girl a safe place to land.

Please, if you’ve been thinking about fostering, this is the kind of dog that truly needs it. She deserves a chance to know that humans can still be good. She isn't timid or scared at all she is full of happiness and love.

These two are beyond special and incredibly bonded. We would absolutely love to keep them together if possible.

Sky is a beautiful 4-year-old tri-color Mini Aussie who is spayed and ready for her next chapter. She does have a little anxiety at first, but once she trusts you, she becomes deeply attached and loyal to her person. She is such a loving girl and truly just wants to feel safe and loved.

🖤 Balloo
Balloo is Sky’s son and has been loved since he was just 8 weeks old. He is 3 years old, amazing with kids, potty trained, and incredibly well-behaved. He has a sweet, easygoing personality and loves being close to his people.

LUCY. Read this one all the way through. Please. 🤍

This girl… she’s the kind of dog that makes you forget the world for a minute.
Five minutes. That’s all it takes.

She will be pressed against your leg, melting into your hands, looking up at you like you hung the moon.

She doesn’t just like people… she needs them.
Lives for them. LOVES PEOPLE!!!

Lucy is:
✨ Spayed
✨ Up to date on vaccines
✨ Deeply affectionate, gentle, and completely people-obsessed

She loves to play — ball, bone, tug… she’s all in.
And then just like that, she melts into you. Total snuggle bug. Your shadow. Your couch buddy.
But here’s the part that matters…

Lucy hasn’t had it easy.
Passed around.
Underfed.
Under-stimulated.
Confined for months… tied up inside a trailer… only getting out when a kind neighbor can step in and give her a walk or a little bit of love.

And somehow… she is still THIS good.

She stood perfectly still for a full bath and nail trim with someone she had just met.

No fight.

No fear.

Just trust.

That tells you everything.

Right now, she’s in active rehabilitation.

She’s gaining weight.

Building her strength back.

Learning what it feels like to be cared for.

And she is making real progress every single week.

She does have reactivity with other dogs with food and — in transition moments she needs to learn confidence.

So let’s be clear:
👉 She needs to be the only dog in the home or 1 other dog slow intro

👉 She is NOT reactive to people — she absolutely loves humans

👉 She’s also working through food reactivity with other dogs

These are not flaws. This is her past showing up.

And with the right person, it’s completely workable.

She is not a beginner dog.

We are a nonprofit dog rescue based in Nevada City, California, built on blood, sweat, tears… and a whole lot of love.

This is early mornings, late nights, dirty clothes, empty bank accounts, and doing whatever it takes to make sure these dogs get a second chance.

We take the ones no one else will.

✨ Meet Flower ✨

I want to introduce you all to this sweet girl… this is Flower 🌸

She’s not quite ready for adoption yet — we’re making sure she gets everything she needs first.

Flower will be spayed before leaving our property and heading off to her forever home, because we do things the right way around here.

She’s a petite little Dalmatian girl, around 35lbs (if that), and let me tell you… she is so stinkin’ cute it hurts 😭

🐾 Just a little shy at first (but warms up beautifully)

OZZY UPDATE 🤍🐾

Who remembers Ozzy… our big, fluffy Great Pyrenees baby?

This boy came to us after being surrendered… stuck in the suburbs, confused, restless, and completely out of place. And honestly? That’s just not where a guardian dog like Ozzy is meant to be.

These dogs are built different. They need space. Purpose. A job. A life that makes sense to them.

So we stepped in.
✨ We got him neutered
✨ Fully vetted
✨ Gave him time to decompress, feel safe, and just be a dog again

And then… we found it.

His dream.

Ozzy is now living his BEST life out in the Tahoe National Forest on 100 acres of pure freedom.

Let me paint the picture for you…
He has land to roam.
A family that understands him.
A purpose to protect and love.

This is what rescue is about.
It’s not just saving them…
It’s finding the right ending.

From being misunderstood and displaced…

To becoming exactly who he was meant to be.

I don’t even know where to start with this one… 🥹

Connor got adopted. And not just adopted… he got the kind of home you DREAM about.

The kind that makes you sit there after they leave, tears in your eyes, just thinking… okay, this is why we do this.

This boy went through it.

He was abandoned.
He was given up on.
He got bounced around like he didn’t matter.

Went through being shuffled place to place… just trying to figure out where he belonged.

And then… he landed here.

At the sanctuary, he finally got to just be a dog.

He got love.
He got safety.
He got people who saw him.
He got properly vetted and neutered.
And now… he’s got his forever.

A REAL forever.

The kind of family that looks at him like he’s everything. The kind that’s going to give him the life he always deserved.

I’m so proud of you, Connor.

You held on, and it paid off.

These are the moments that keep us going when everything feels heavy.
