Pride is a dangerous mask that makes us appear spiritually mature while keeping us distant from God. Like Judas, we can look the part and say the right things while our hearts remain unchanged. True humility, demonstrated by Jesus washing His disciples' feet, involves serving others without expecting recognition. Pride resists God's will and leads to missed opportunities, while humility opens doors to God's blessing and our divine purpose. This week, examine where pride might be holding you back from serving others and fulfilling God's calling on your life.

This Pope doesn’t know the biblical standard and should be ashamed of his comments. I’m not yet sure if his comments are foolish (because he’s deceived) or wicked (because he’s a deceiver). Time will tell. Either way, his current comments show a lack of wisdom and a proverbial simple-mindedness.

Pope Leo XIV said: "Someone who says 'I'm against abortion but says I am in favor of the death penalty' is not really pro-life."

We all need to be reminded that education is not about protecting institutions — it is about preparing children.

One-size-fits-all mentality rarely fits anyone well. I have four children on four different educational paths, each personalized for their strengths and weaknesses. None of them are free. All of them require a significant investment of time and resources. Plus we still support public school teachers and programs in our local schools with our own personal time and money.

Wherever this "voucher" conversation goes in Mississippi, I'm in support of whatever restores choice to parents, excellence in education, accountability in bureaucracy, and nobility to educators.

A House select committee is weighing the pros and cons of implementing a robust school choice program in Mississippi, ahead of the upcoming legislative session.
