February drill has come and gone.
Cadets had a dress uniform inspection in anticipation of our upcoming unit inspection. Then they heard from a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy at Aqua'rd Turtle Scuba. A Jeopardy style knowledge game, filling out cadet billets and a knockout drill rounds out Saturday.
Sunday cadets had a PRT in anticipation of summer training season. They rallied to encourage our last cadets to complete their run. Then they spent the day at the simulated range with Camp Crowder staff. When not utilizing the range they rotated through stations including neckerchief and uniform ironing, sewing patches, uniform issuing for new sizes (with our new supply cadet) and neckerchief tying.

We are so grateful to have support from the Burns family and Aqua’rd Turtle Scuba.
They are always welcoming to the cadets and go above and beyond to ensure they have a great experience.
Thank you does not even begin to say how thankful we are but we’ll always continue to say it.

January drill cadets were able to stay overnight at Camp Crowder. That means rack making and barracks inspections. Cadets participated in team building activities, PT and volunteer work at Hope Kitchen They also rotated through the simulated range and maneuvers with rubber duckies. Finished the weekend strong with bowling and a pizza lunch. Then an award ceremony for all of those hard earned achievements.

December highlights included volunteering at Wreaths Across America, a visit to the Air and Military Museum of the Ozarks, swim qualification practice and several area parades.

Cadets had a wonderful service project at Hope Kitchen Neosho in partnership with YVC Joplin. Cadets were lead by amazing YVC staff, in addition to our adult team.
Cadets broke into small teams and made from scratch recipes for a meal to serve 100 people in the Neosho community. They prepped, cooked and cleaned up for an amazing evening out learning to serve others.
