WHY DO WE DO THIS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT?
Christopher Cooley attended Benton Elementary through the 3rd grade. He was diagnosed with cancer at age 3. He was a thoughtful young boy. Christopher had a gift for brightening the lives of of everyone he met. Since his passing, over 20 years ago, the Christopher Foundation has been touching the lives of families with children diagnosed with cancer. One way they do this is by delivering Easter basket to children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. The Foundation is able to spread joy by delivering Easter baskets to all children that our patients, not just those with cancer.
Our Benton students bring the items for the baskets and Benton staff brings the baskets, grass and bags to wrap the treasured field baskets in.
You are welcome to send items as soon as you are able and please have items sent by Monday, March 30th so we can get the baskets packed and ready for The Christpher Foundation to pick them up on April 1st.
Thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity!
