“Transformations of the Global Social Nucleus: Thoughts on Family as Reflected in Taiwanese Cinema” was the main theme of the round-table conference hosted by Fulbright University Vietnam in collaboration with the organizers of Autumn Meeting.

The conference offered an array of papers both rich and revelatory on some of Taiwan’s most iconic films recognized not only on the regional and global cinematic stage, but also adored by the most ardent of cinephiles.

After 2 years of the pandemic, life in Vietnam has returned to what we now call the ‘new normal.' However, the impact left by the pandemic is far from gone.

People’s lives, work, and health have all suffered, and two years of interrupted education has left its mark, with children struggling back at school and some young people dropping out of education altogether.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever has the opportunity to reframe the war with a modern filmmaking perspective. Film producer Andrew Muscato, many 1980s-era Vietnam films often portrayed Vietnam and the Vietnamese people in an exceedingly negative light.

To correct that, the production incorporated Vietnamese consultants, former war correspondents, and Columbia professor Lien-Hang T. Nguyen, a world-renowned expert on the Tet Offensive, which is seen in the film.

The Vietnam Education Foundation Fellows and Scholars Association (VEFFA) is an organization established and run by those who received or are receiving a fellowship from the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF).

VEF is an initiative of the U.S. government to strengthen the U.S. - Vietnam bilateral relationship through educational exchanges in science and technology.

The season 5 finale of Shark Tank Vietnam saw an explosion of young entrepreneurs with big visions. One of them is Đào Hải Nhật Tân, CEO and co-founder of Seesaw Vietnam, a non-profit that cares for mental health.

Đào is a third-year undergrad at Fulbright University Vietnam, majoring in Psychology. She wins two golden tickets on Shark Tank after sharing her work alongside the mission and vision of Seesaw and the future of Psychology Studies in Vietnam.

President Thuy believes 2023 will be a remarkable year for Fulbright University Vietnam. We will be celebrating the first Undergraduate Commencement, a new flagship campus. Therefore, she knows that this is the best time for her to step down so a new generation of leaders can take over.

After 8 years of being the founding president of Fulbright University Vietnam, Ms. Dam B**h Thuy has announced her decision to step down from the presidency by Summer of 2023.

Madam Thuy believes it is time for a new generation of leadership to take over. She is grateful for her time with Fulbright and will continue to grow our school over the next year and prepare for the transition of a new leader.

President Thuy and Fulbright Vietnam team had an opportunity to meet with the leadership team of California State University, Fullerton, during their visit to Southern California. Madam Thuy and the team were excited to share the journey of Fulbright University Vietnam and the work we've been doing as the first liberal arts university in Vietnam.

We want to thank the CSUF team for hosting and welcoming us with such warmth and openness! We hope this will be the start of many more exciting conversations in the future.

The Community Change-Maker Scholarship provides students with financial assistance to implement social projects of their dreams for local communities, thus reflecting great confidence from donors in the future of Fulbright and its young people.

Having successfully demonstrated their commitment to the betterment of Vietnam society and its broader community, this year’s Scholarship recipients will receive an award of VND 50,000,000 (equivalent to US$2,137) to realize their projects.
