As the storms move out of Southeast Texas, we are reminded of how vital our connections are. When the skies clear, the true strength of our community shines through in how we show up for one another.

September is Kinship Month, a time to celebrate and honor the incredible caregivers who step up to provide love, stability, and a sense of belonging to children when they need it most. 💙

Today, we are thrilled to kick off our new series highlighting amazing kinship placements through community-based foster care by introducing you to a true hero: Ms. Nobles.

When two precious girls needed a home, Ms. Nobles didn’t hesitate. Even though she didn’t personally know the children, she trusted her adult daughter’s request to help and opened her heart and home immediately.

As a head manager of a food establishment in Beaumont, Ms. Nobles balances her busy career with her new role as a caregiver. By managing her own work schedule, she ensures that she can be there for every doctor and dentist appointment, putting the girls' needs first.

Kinship placements are vital. They provide children with a sense of security and belonging, allowing them to be embraced by "fictive family" and surrounded by the nurturing environment they need to thrive. These placements are essential in helping children maintain connections to their roots and culture during times of uncertainty.

Every child deserves to feel safe and cherished. Together, let’s continue to uplift and support families like Ms. Nobles, ensuring every child has the opportunity to grow up happy and healthy!

Sometimes the most beautiful reunions are the ones born from the hardest journeys.

We are honored to share a story that reminds us that family is about more than just circumstances—it’s about commitment, growth, and the courage to show up. After nearly two years in foster care, a resilient young girl has been reunited with her father, who never missed a beat once he knew where she was.

His journey to full custody wasn't easy, but it is a testament to the power of perseverance. This story is also a reminder of the complex emotions our children navigate. While she faced the heartbreak of being separated from her brothers, she also discovered a sister she never knew, finding new connections and roots in the midst of loss.

Today, what began as a challenging path has grown into a story of healing, unexpected relationships, and love. We are so proud of this family for their strength and look forward to seeing their future filled with laughter and connection.

Reflecting on the past three years, it’s incredible to see how far TFCN has come. We are more committed than ever to the mission of community-based foster care, and the future has never looked brighter.

Our team recently gathered for an inspiring morning to hear about our exciting new vision and to strategize on the impactful work ahead. It was a powerful session filled with collaboration and shared purpose. A huge thank you to the Courtyard Cafe for serving us a lovely breakfast—you are always such amazing hosts!

We are absolutely blown away by the incredible generosity shown during this year’s "School is Cool" back-to-school supply drive! 🎒✨

A massive thank you to our amazing community partners—ISTC, Social Llama Events, Valero, Sertoma, the Tri City Corvette Club, Lindsey Scott and family and every single person who dropped off supplies, mailed items, or ordered from our wish list. Because of you, we have been able to support hundreds of children in the foster care system this week alone.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated TFCN staff who drove near and far to gather these supplies and ensure they reached the kids on their caseloads. Your hard work makes all the difference.

Thanks to this outpouring of support, school is going to be truly "cool" this year for so many kids in foster care across Region 5! 📚✏️

What a wonderful afternoon! We had such a lovely time at the tea party hosted by TFCN and Judge Randy Shelton in Jefferson County.

A huge thank you to the Courtyard Cafe for helping us host such a special event! The girls had a blast trying out different teas, munching on tea sandwiches, and enjoying all the yummy sweet treats.

The absolute highlight of the day? Getting to play "trial and jury" right from the bench—it was such a fun, unique experience for everyone! We were also so happy to have our friends from CASA join in on the fun. New memories and experiences were had by all!

🎉🌟 What an incredible day at the first TFCN Region 5 Teen Conference! 🌟🎉

Youth from all over the region gathered for a full day of engaging workshops focused on youth independence. It was heartwarming to see so many young people eager to learn and grow! Our fantastic Youth Engagement Team worked tirelessly to make this event a success, and their dedication truly shone through. 🙌

A huge thank you to all the community vendors who set up booths, sharing valuable information on various subjects that matter to our youth. Your support and participation made a significant impact! Thank you to all the TFCN staff who helped work the event! We truly appreciate you so much!💚

To wrap up this fun-filled day, the youth enjoyed an evening of bowling, arcade games, and pizza together at Max Bowl. 🍕🎳 The laughter and camaraderie shared were truly special!

Celebrating our amazing graduates with the ultimate beach pool day! 🎓🌊

Our seniors had a blast soaking up the sun, enjoying a delicious lunch, and keeping the ice cream flowing all day long. To top off the celebration, these deserving students were presented with certificates signed by the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott and they received some incredible prizes from Day One Bags!

A huge thank you to the child welfare boards in Region 5 for making special days like this possible. We are so proud of all you’ve achieved—what a time we had! 🍦✨
