We (John Imhof, our Mentor Coordinator to my left) were pleased to distinguish SRSO Lt. Guadagnoli with an Easter Basket full of candy to celebrate him and to share with his Court Security Staff last Wednesday right before Veterans Treatment Court. You see, the lieutenant just reached 5 years with the Santa Rosa County Sheriffs Office, which follows his former career with the U.S. Marshals. Sierra Hotel!

Mrs. Carmen Reynolds with Friends of Santa Rosa Veterans Treatment Court recently stopped by to present Lt. Guadagnoli with a thoughtful treat basket in honor of receiving his five-year service pin.

We are incredibly grateful for the strong connections we share with our community and partners like Veterans Court. Moments like this remind us how meaningful those relationships truly are.

We and the Santa Rosa Veterans Treatment Court Coordinator John Venable (First Judicial Circuit) hosted the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs new Deputy Director, retired Col. DJ Reyes, today at the Santa Rosa Courthouse. Col. Reyes was recently chosen for this position and they couldn't have selected anyone more veteran-centered than this man, the former Mentor Coordinator for the Hillsborough Veteran Treatment Court, the largest in the state. In addition, he created the first Florida Federal Veterans Treatment Court. Don't blink around this versatile leader (also an attorney in addition to being Army Special Ops) or you'll miss something very important.

Full of knowledge, enthusiasm, positive attitude overflowing, it was our privilege and pleasure to meet the embodiment of veteran advocacy this morning.

Friends Vice-president Wayne Smyly and Executive Director David Farrow were in attendance, along with advisors Brandi Mitchell (Spouses & Families) and Dr. Nate Bass.

We at the Friends of Santa Rosa Veterans Treatment Court feel it is our honor and privilege to support Florida's newest veterans treatment court under the guidance of Judge Tony Giraud, VTC court administrators and Stakeholders.

Some of our Friends Board members (former US Army David Farrow, Executive Director; Tommy Nichols, Treasurer and retired US Army JAG/Judge, Col. John Imhof, VTC Mentor Coordinator) were joyous to present Christmas goody boxes to our VTC Veterans during Court this Wednesday, along with a chocolate reindeer! Thank you to our contributors who enable us to continue this encouraging work for justice-involved Veterans and their families. Merry Christmas! Turn your volume on!🎄🎅🎁

Judge Giraud allowed us to read this poem we crafted for the VTC participants:

Today we offer simple gifts,
A chocolate reindeer, a bite to share—
Small tokens, yes, but given with care,
And gratitude for the strength you bring here.
This court is not just a place of judgment,
It is a year of work, of choice, of change—
Of showing up, of facing hard things,
Of progress earned one day at a time.
To the Veterans and families walking this road:
We see your effort. We honor your service.
May this season bring peace, steady hope,
And the reminder—you are not alone.
