Business or other Nauvoo area group leaders: we are in need letters of support for Nauvoo to be selected by the IRS as an Opportunity Zones 2.0 community. If you represent a business or group, please consider taking a few minutes to submit a letter of support. Here is a template of what we are looking for: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WKaO_WCDl-8H-7PoLxnc4TSZ8LIh5xXXxAZRY_KSSlg/edit?usp=sharing

Letters can be sent to Grow Nauvoo through Facebook or [email protected]. The deadline is Sat, April 18th.

Here's a brief summary of opportunity zones. Opportunity Zones 2.0 offers significant tax incentives by allowing investors to defer and reduce taxes on capital gains reinvested into designated, economically distressed communities. For those who hold these investments for at least five years, the program permanently forgives up to 30% of the original tax bill, with the highest benefits reserved for rural areas. Most importantly, any appreciation on the new investment becomes entirely tax-free if held for a decade, making it a powerful tool for long-term wealth building while supporting local revitalization. This development can support residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

Celebrating local entrepreneurs in Nauvoo 👏

The Nauvoo Business Development Group recently wrapped up their Business Plan Competition—and this year ended in a tie!

✨ Congratulations to:
McKenzie Bryant of Bryant Homestead
Lyuba Hall of Bake Royale LLC

Both were recognized for their creativity, hard work, and vision for growing their businesses right here in Nauvoo.

From allergen-friendly baked goods and farmers market favorites to European-style pastries and custom orders… these women are helping shape the future of Nauvoo’s small business community.

We love seeing local dreams turn into something real ❤️
