Club member Alan sent these 2 photos as a followup to the last post showing some Corning Museum glass. Two gems from the Corning Museum of Glass. from when the Paperweight Collectors Association had their biennial convention in Corning. Photo 1: A guard at the Museum stopped me and asked if I had seen the gladiator cup. His enthusiasm was infectious, so I followed him and listened. Cups like these were sometimes sold to fans to support their favorite gladiators, much like modern sports fans buying jerseys of their favorite athletes. The cup is molded and dates from 50-100 AD. Photo 2: A small mirror from Austria 1580-1595, with a border of millefiori canes, gems, and other decorations. You have to blow up the photo to see the millefiori canes.:
