Showing up with purpose.

For many, becoming a Volunteer Mentor is more than a commitment. It’s an opportunity to serve, listen without judgment, and walk alongside someone preparing for a new chapter.

We’re grateful for the people who say yes, show up, and choose to see the person beyond their circumstances.

Together, we can build trusted relationships that bring encouragement, hope, and support to successful reentry.

Be the person who shows up. Become a Volunteer Mentor at MentorTN.org.

Community partnerships make successful reentry possible.

We’re grateful to Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry (TPOM), a VMI Implementation Partner helping recruit, prepare, and support Volunteer Mentors serving across four Tennessee facilities.

Through trusted relationships, mentors provide encouragement, accountability, and hope to individuals preparing to return to their communities.

Together, we’re building bridges to successful reentry.

381 more to reach 500.

We’re getting closer to our goal of 500 Volunteer Mentors across Tennessee. Every mentor starts by showing up, building a trusted relationship, and offering encouragement and support to someone preparing for successful reentry.

With 381 more mentors, we have an opportunity to expand the network of people willing to make a meaningful difference. Help us reach 500 Volunteer Mentors and build more bridges to successful reentry.

Behind every successful program is a community that cares.

VMI creates meaningful impact by building service-oriented relationships and preparing people to return to their communities.

It takes more than a program. It takes people willing to show up, support one another, and make sure no one is forgotten.

Everybody needs somebody.

That's why mentorship matters.

As someone who has experienced incarceration, this mentor understands the importance of having someone who shows up, listens, and walks alongside you.

Through VMI, Volunteer Mentors provide encouragement, hope, and trusted relationships that help individuals prepare for successful reentry.

You don't have to do it alone. Join a community of mentors making a meaningful difference.

A successful day of collaboration, connection, and impact.

The Governor's Residence Gathering brought together Tennessee Department of Correction staff, Implementation Partners, volunteer mentors, and community leaders to celebrate the continued growth of the Volunteer Mentorship Initiative.

Through meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and strengthened partnerships, the event reinforced our collective commitment to supporting successful reentry across Tennessee.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success. Together, we're building bridges to successful reentry one relationship at a time.

Anyone can show up. Anyone can listen. Anyone can be a friend.

That's the heart of being a Volunteer Mentor.

As Caleb shares, mentorship isn't about having all the answers. It's about building a relationship, offering encouragement, and walking alongside someone as they prepare for successful reentry.

If you've been thinking about becoming a mentor, this is your sign. Your time, your presence, and your willingness to care can make a lasting impact.

Become a Volunteer Mentor today and help build bridges to successful reentry.

Every mentor has a reason for saying yes.

For many of our volunteer mentors, the experience has been meaningful, transformative, and deeply rewarding. By showing up with encouragement, consistency, and hope, they're helping individuals prepare for successful reentry one relationship at a time.

Behind every successful reentry is a community committed to making a difference.

The Volunteer Mentorship Initiative is made possible through the dedication of our Implementation Partners, volunteers, and community leaders who invest in hope, support, and second chances. Together, we're building stronger communities and creating lasting impact—one relationship at a time.
