Today, women typically account for roughly 8–14% of spins on country radio.
In that context, highlighting one, two, or three female artists can feel like progress, even while the broader imbalance remains. đź“»
Celebrating a few women matters.
But it doesn’t, on its own, change a system where access to consistent airplay is still limited for many. 🚧
Progress isn’t about choosing exceptions.
It’s about building a format where women are part of the foundation, not the margins. ⚖️💗
We don’t need a “female slot.” ❌
We need fair, sustainable representation.
That’s the work we’re fundraising toward,
laying the groundwork for future pilot programs that focus on radio systems, airplay patterns, and expanding the number of women able to earn consistent spins over time. 🌱📊
