At My Bag My Story, we say "End the Trash Bag" a lot. Here's what's underneath that hashtag.

Many people don't realize that children in foster care often move from home to home carrying their belongings in a trash bag.

In Tennessee, children will be moved 3 or more times within their first 12 months in care. That's twice the national average, making us last in the nation for placement stability.

At My Bag My Story, our mission is to improve the lives of children in foster care by replacing those trash bags with bags of their own. A bag may seem like a small act of kindness. But to a child who's only ever known a trash bag, it's a reminder that they also deserve dignity and respect.

The idea behind it is simple: one person can change the course of a child's life. One person, one child.
