That's how many it takes to have one foster home for every child in care, according to state figures from earlier this year.

September is National Kinship Care Month, and we are celebrating the families who say yes.

Yes to a phone call that came out of nowhere. Yes to rearranging a home, a budget, and a whole routine overnight. Yes to a child who needed somewhere safe to land, right now, with no time to plan.

Because of them, thousands of Tennessee kids get to stay close to the people who already know them and love them.
