She smiles in photos,
but the ache never really leaves.

She learned how to mother a child on earth
while missing one in heaven.

She laughs, but there’s a quiet sadness tucked behind her joy.
She celebrates milestones,
while silently wishing she had one more name to write on the cake.

Grief and love live side by side now,
woven together in every heartbeat,
in every bedtime prayer,
in every moment she holds her child a little tighter.

Because once you’ve loved a baby in heaven,
you carry that love forever,
a mother twice over,
with half her heart in the clouds.
