Nashville, TN — June 2026 — The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation invites the community to attend the third installment of the Dudley Lyceum Series on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 12:00 noon - located at 707 Youngs Lane in Nashville.

The featured speaker will be Bobby Edgil, Chief Executive Officer of ABS Business Systems and ABS Purewater. With more than 37 years of sales and operational leadership experience, Edgil is widely respected for his commitment to business excellence, leadership, faith, and family.

His presentation, “Overcoming Adversity in Life, Work and Relationships,” will offer practical wisdom and personal insight into navigating challenges, building resilience, and leading with purpose both professionally and personally.

The Dudley Lyceum Series is a signature initiative of The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation designed to inform, inspire, and empower the community through conversations centered on leadership, education, faith, history, and civic engagement. The series also serves as a platform to preserve and highlight the rich legacy of Black Seventh-day Adventist history while encouraging future generations toward purpose-driven leadership.

Dudley Lyceum Series Continues with Aundra K. O’Giste-Nobrega on Faith, Leadership, and Civic Impact
Nashville, TN — May 2026 — The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation invites the community and its valued supporters to the second installment of the Dudley Lyceum Series, a growing platform for education, leadership, and community engagement in Nashville.

The upcoming session will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Foundation’s campus (707 Youngs Lane, Nashville, TN), featuring guest speaker Aundra K. O’Giste-Nobrega, an accomplished public service professional serving as an Executive Legislative Assistant with the Tennessee General Assembly.

Her presentation, “Standing in Purpose, Rooted in Legacy: Faith and Politics,” will explore the powerful intersection of faith, public service, and leadership—offering timely insights into how values and vision can shape meaningful civic impact.

A Voice at the Intersection of Policy and Purpose
With more than 20 years of experience across healthcare administration, higher education, and public service—including leadership roles at Vanderbilt University Medical Center—O’Giste-Nobrega brings a unique blend of strategic expertise and heartfelt commitment to community advancement. Her work within the State Senate reflects a deep dedication to ensuring that policy remains connected to people.

A proud graduate of Oakwood University and current graduate student at Liberty University, she embodies the very principles the Dudley Lyceum Series seeks to elevate: faith, family, education, and purpose-driven leadership.

The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation Launches “Teena’s R.N. Nursing Scholarship” to Empower Future Nurses and Support Single Mothers
Nashville, TN — The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation is proud to announce the launch of Teena’s R.N. Nursing Scholarship, a new initiative designed to support African-American female nursing students who are custodial parents at Oakwood University.
This scholarship reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to advancing education, strengthening families, and investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Addressing a Critical Need
Balancing the demands of nursing school while raising a family presents significant challenges. Many talented women face financial hardship, time constraints, and limited support systems that can hinder their ability to complete their education.
Teena’s R.N. Nursing Scholarship was created to help remove these barriers—providing both financial assistance and encouragement to women determined to succeed.
“This scholarship is about more than financial support—it’s about investing in women who are carrying both the responsibility of family and the calling to serve others through nursing,” said Michael Hubbard, Executive Director of The Charles & Etta Dudley Foundation.
“We believe that when we support these women, we strengthen families, communities, and the future of healthcare.”

Scholarship Overview
• Award: $1,000 per semester (up to two semesters per academic year)
• Institution: Oakwood University
• Field of Study: Undergraduate Nursing


Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be African American female students, age 25 or older
• Be a custodial parent
• Be enrolled in a nursing program at Oakwood University
• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
• Have affiliation with the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Application Process
Applicants must submit:
• Completed application form: https://www.cedudley.org/nursingapp
• Unofficial Oakwood University transcript
• A 500–750 word essay outlining:
o Educational and career goals
o Challenges as a custodial parent
o How the scholarship will support their success
• Two letters of recommendation from church leaders (including one from a pastor)
