Notice:
We understand our name implies a certain level of nationalism, but that is not the case. Please do not let the name keep you from enjoying the page. We are most definitely a global community. Warning:
We are a collection of atheists that promote anti-theism. This means that we will offer criticisms of religion and the religious. If this troubles your sensibilities, you may consider seeking
other pages. Speaking of sensibilities, there may be language used by fans or admin that you are opposed to, so if the use of “four letter words” bother you, you may also wish to seek other pages. About Us:
Greetings, fellow atheists and anti-theists, to the “United Atheists of America” page. Here at United Atheists of America, we are united under the common cause of opposing the spread of religion, presenting to the world the harm and dangers caused by religions and religious thinking, as well as openly criticizing and ridiculing religions and other ignorant and/or dangerous ideas and positions. If you wish to revise history, stand to block the spread and growth of knowledge and science, desire the lives of others to be ruled under the mandates of your own personal faith/religion, support the violation of the Constitution, are an enemy to equality and human rights, support the oppression of others because your holy books say to do so, then you are among those holding humanity back from achieving its potential. Spreading your ignorance and bigotry in the name of your god does not make your ignorance and bigotry acceptable. In general, we here at the United Atheists of America don't care what you believe, as long as your beliefs do not harm others and are not forced upon those who do not share them. You can inform your children of your beliefs, but we do not support, endorse, or accept the indoctrination of children into their parents belief system, as such, with the exception of the “teach them to his children” bit, here at the United Atheists of America, we, the admins, adhere to the concept, quoted below, written by by H.L. Mencken;
The way to deal with superstition is not to be polite to it, but to tackle it with all arms, and so rout it, cripple it, and make it forever infamous and ridiculous. Is it, perchance, cherished by persons who should know better? Then their folly should be brought out into the light of day, and exhibited there in all its hideousness until they flee from it, hiding their heads in shame. True enough, even a superstitious man has certain inalienable rights. He has a right to harbor and indulge his imbecilities as long as he pleases, provided only he does not try to inflict them upon other men by force. He has a right to argue for them as eloquently as he can, in season and out of season. He has a right to teach them to his children. But certainly he has no right to be protected against the free criticism of those who do not hold them. He has no right to demand that they be treated as sacred. He has no right to preach them without challenge. Did Darrow, in the course of his dreadful bombardment of Bryan, drop a few shells, incidentally, into measurably cleaner camps? Then let the garrisons of those camps look to their defenses. They are free to shoot back. But they can't disarm their enemy." Required Reading:

Some rules of the page, violate these if you're looking for a banning:
Racist, homophobic, or transphobic comments? Any variation of "I'll pray for you." Spamming comments on our posts or our timeline. Any variation of "you're just as bad a they/the religious are." Any comment that offers nothing to the conversation and instead simply insults atheists/atheism, or the page and its admins. For example, constructive criticism or honest inquiries are one thing, calling atheists or admins as****es is another. Proselytizing or copy / paste of any scripture that isn't Pastafarian when used as the entire post / comment. Using scripture to point out a flaw in a religion or even to try and refute a post is one thing, but make sure you qualify the scripture with why you're posting it. Otherwise, unless we asked for lines of scripture, pure-scripture posts have no place here. Having nothing to add the discussion except being a grammar-Nazi. Correcting a typo in an original image we created is one thing, and acceptable, commenting only to criticize another user's comment's spelling or grammar is another. Of course, the only exception to this is if someone is attempting to insult the intelligence of others, yet their own post is full of errors. Saying you're un-liking the page, whining about people criticizing or mocking religions/religious people, or being a holier-than-thou-atheist douchecanoe and saying we are giving atheism a bad name. Deny evolution? We also reserve the right to modify this list in any way, at any time. Know that while we do not ban for a simple difference of opinion, we are also not inherently a debate page. We allow and take part in debate in the comment sections of various images and status updates, sure, but if you're sole purpose for being here is to be a contrarian, there are debate pages out there that will better suit you.
