Q: What drew you to this story?
Jessica: "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" has the ability to transport all of us into a world of wonder while revealing truths that reach far beyond the page or stage. For some, the story is an adventurous fairytale filled with fantastic creatures, enchanting landscapes, and dramatic battles. For others, it is a deeper account of betrayal, sacrifice, redemption, and the triumph of good over evil. For Christians, it is a profound allegory of the Gospel.
As director, I hope to embrace all of these layers. I want the audience to experience the wonder of stepping through the wardrobe, the danger and beauty of Narnia, and the emotional journey of its characters. At the center of that journey is Aslan, whose sacrifice and resurrection point us toward Christ’s love, grace, forgiveness, and ultimate victory.
Through design, movement, music, and storytelling, my goal is to create a Narnia that feels truly magical and deeply meaningful. Above all, I want audiences to be reminded that our failures do not define us, redemption is possible, and that even in darkness, there is hope.
