Big thanks to for upgrading the Bogusky bathrooms with new stalls and new timed locks! (Bathrooms by the silver bird (Reflection sculpture))

The bathrooms will now be open more hours every day and on weekends!!

🕰️ 6am to 9pm everyday!

Pollinators, plants, and people work together to support our wonderful world! That's what this year's Park Explorers learned as they helped plant native perennial flowers around their schools to be enjoyed by pollinators and students alike. Many thanks to Bates Nursery for generously providing the plugs we used for this lesson!

Here’s what Completing the Loop will make possible:

✔️ A smooth, ADA-compliant walking surface
✔️ A safer, properly aligned pedestrian crossing
✔️ Clear walking paths separated from cars
✔️ Benches and signage for comfort and confidence

These improvements will make the Lake Sevier loop safer and more welcoming for everyone, especially older adults , parents with children, and new bikers.

No rod? No problem! Join Friends of Shelby, TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency) , and MDHA (Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency) for a day of free fishing and fun in Shelby Park. Meet us at Lakeview Shelter 1 by Lake Sevier! We will provide bait and have rods available to borrow. You can even join us afterwards for a cookout lunch!

It may not be time for the super bloom yet (which usually starts in late-August), but there are plenty of beautiful, yellow blooms to be found around right now!

This patch of coreopsis is north of the lake and can be seen when walking the lake loop path. Make sure to stop on the wooden bridge and look into the stream, you might see ducks, turtles, and tiny fish amongst the flowers!
