We are excited to sponsor our first Real Deaf Story with special guest Hayden Daum! This event is for anyone interested in Deaf life! You do not need to be a parent or work in church ministry to attend.

We hope you can join us Saturday, September 19th, from 2:30-4:30pm at Thistle Farms in Nashville. It will be a wonderful afternoon!

Ella Mae Lentz is an award-winning Deaf poet who has significantly impacted my personal development in ASL and my understanding of Deaf culture. I had the honor of meeting her once but that was years ago! Her poem, “To a Hearing Mother” is beautiful and captures the tension that a Deaf child experiences while living in two worlds. Both are important and equally valuable! I love how she extends an invitation to parents, “Will you take my hand and come join me and become doubly fertile ground for him to grow smart and beautiful?” What are your thoughts about this poem?
