What a milestone!💛📚💙

Our goal is to get free books into the hands of every young child in Hillsborough County. So far, in just over two years, Diane’s Library has given away more than 75,000 🆓 books in memory of our mom, and Nashua school teacher, Diane Williams. ❤️‍🩹

As a proud affiliated partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, any child under the age of five that lives in Hillsborough is eligible to receive one free book every month. The books are delivered at home, free of charge, from the time they register until their fifth birthday.🥳

Partnerships like this make our work possible. Every month, thousands of children in our community open their mailboxes to find a new book with their name on it, helping them build their own home libraries and a lifelong love of reading.

💛 Happy Dolly Day! 💛

Today, we celebrate Dolly Parton—not only for the music, movies, and joy she has given us, but for the incredible legacy she has created for children.

Give Like Dolly is a nationwide celebration of that legacy and an invitation to help continue the work she started more than 30 years ago with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Dolly has always believed that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up surrounded by books, regardless of where they live or their family’s circumstances. Today, millions of books later, that simple belief continues to change lives.

Here in Hillsborough County, Diane’s Library is proud to help carry Dolly’s vision forward. Your generosity helps us put a new book, addressed especially to them, into the mailboxes of thousands of our youngest readers—giving families the opportunity to read together, build home libraries, and nurture a lifelong love of reading. 💛

Dolly once said, “We can never get enough books into the hands of enough children.”

Mom would be over the moon today. 📚

For 40 years, our mom, Diane, taught reading in public schools. Most of those years were dedicated to school children in Nashua. She saw firsthand what books at home do to prepare little ones for school.

This week, a legislative service request was filed at the NH State House for the Imagination Library Act, which would provide funding for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library partners across the state. 💛📚💙

We’re deeply grateful to prime sponsor Sen. Daryl Abbas, a father of two young children who knows the value of reading early, and to cosponsors Sen. Suzanne Prentiss and Sen. Donovan Fenton. Together they’re working to give NH families a free resource that builds literacy, creates bonding time, and offers an alternative to screens. 📖

We need support for this service request to become law. We will follow it every step of the way with the goal of brining the Imagination Library program to every child in the state.🤞🤞🤞

Dolly Parton believed in giving back in the most generous ways. Did you know Dolly could have been a billionaire? Her net worth never reflected that milestone because she actively chose to give away much of her wealth rather than hoard it to reach billionaire status. Just another reason she is our queen and national treasure. 👑

This year, we’re celebrating her giving spirit through Give Like Dolly Day. September 25, communities across the country will come together to give back to children by supporting their local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. 📖

Here in New Hampshire, that means supporting Diane’s Library, the state’s largest Imagination Library partner. Your support helps put a free, high-quality book into the hands of local children every month, from birth to age 5. 💛📚💙

The world has been remembering Dolly Parton as “The Book Lady”. 📖🦋❤️‍🩹

This larger-than-life mural of Dolly captures the essence of her legacy. Visiting Nashville years ago, I snapped this photo. I was mesmerized by this image, especially when I learned the story behind it. Dolly Parton had spent years making sure kids in her home county had access to free books. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library delivers new books to young children, not just once, but every month, in the years before they enter kindergarten. 🎓

Years later, searching for a way to honor my late mom, Diane Williams, a school teacher and reading specialist, I remembered the mural. That memory lit the fuse for the idea that is now known as Diane’s Library. 💡Together with my sister, we built a nonprofit in honor of our mom, and in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Now we’re working with forward-thinking state senators to bring this program statewide. We believe every child in New Hampshire deserves their own home library. 💙📚💛
