Housing challenges require collaboration, conversation, and a commitment to finding solutions.

Our CEO, Michael Puchalla, recently joined regional leaders and housing professionals for the Fort Myers Affordable Housing Symposium, hosted by First Horizon Bank, to discuss the challenges facing Southwest Florida’s housing market.

Following an economic and housing market outlook from noted economist Dr. Doug Duncan, Michael joined Lee County Property Appraiser Matt Caldwell and Lisa Lefkow of Habitat for Humanity of Collier County for an informative panel discussion focused on the realities and opportunities surrounding affordable housing in our region.

We’re grateful to First Horizon Bank for bringing together leaders who are working to strengthen Southwest Florida’s housing future, and proud to have Michael representing The Housing Alliance in this important conversation.

🎓 Congratulations to our CEO, Michael Puchalla!

We’re proud to celebrate Michael’s graduation from the Nonprofit Leadership Academy alongside a remarkable group of nonprofit leaders from across Collier County.

The six-month program provided an opportunity to deepen leadership skills, explore strategic planning, fundraising, board governance, organizational culture and more — while building meaningful connections with fellow leaders who are working every day to strengthen our community.

We’re grateful to Collier Community Foundation, Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation and for investing in the growth of our nonprofit leaders and creating a space for collaboration and shared learning.

🚨 Honor. Reflect. Prepare. ❤️💙

We were proud to take part in the 3rd Annual Emergency Readiness Summit joining Collier County residents 55+ for an important day focused on honoring our first responders and preparing for whatever emergencies may come our way.

Our HELP, Housing, Education, Lending Programs team was there with an education table, sharing information about the resources available to help local residents find and maintain safe, attainable housing.

For many older adults, a housing crisis can quickly become a homelessness crisis. That’s why connecting seniors with the right resources before they reach a point of crisis is so important.

From emergency preparedness and community resources to housing stability, events like this remind us that being prepared means knowing where to turn - and making sure our neighbors know, too.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, to the organizers and community partners who made this day possible, and especially to the first responders who serve and protect our community every day. 🇺🇸

Investing in Housing Stability 🏡

We’re proud to share that the HELP, Housing, Education, Lending Programs Housing Navigator Program has received a $15,000 grant from the U.S. Bank Foundation.

This generous support will help us expand homebuyer education, fair housing outreach, and pre-purchase counseling—connecting more Collier County families with the guidance and resources they need to find affordable housing and work toward homeownership.

Thank you to U.S. Bank Foundation for investing in our community and helping us make attainable housing more accessible for local families. Together we are helping homebuyers build confidence and work toward long-term stability. ❤️

This Labor Day, we celebrate the people who keep Collier County moving. 🇺🇸

From teachers and healthcare workers to first responders, hospitality professionals, tradespeople, small business employees, and so many others, our workforce is the heart of our community.

But honoring our workforce also means making sure the people who work here can afford to live here. That’s why The Housing Alliance is working every day to address Collier County’s workforce housing crisis and advance attainable housing solutions for the families and individuals who make our community stronger.

This Labor Day, let’s celebrate the contributions of our workforce - and continue working toward a community where everyone who works here has the opportunity to live here, too. 🏡
