🇲🇽 No other country on Earth has done this.
In 1970, Mexico hosted the World Cup for the first time — and blew the world away. Color television. Iconic stadiums. Pelé. El Tri reached the quarterfinals.
In 1986, Mexico stepped up again when Colombia couldn't host and became the FIRST country in history to host the World Cup twice. Maradona. The Hand of God. El Tri reached the quarterfinals again — knocked out on penalties by West Germany.
And now, in 2026, it happens a THIRD time.
No other nation — not Brazil, not Germany, not Italy, not France — has ever hosted or co-hosted the FIFA World Cup three times. Mexico stands alone in history.
The Estadio Azteca, the only stadium to host two World Cup finals (1970 and 1986), will once again open its doors to the world this summer.
From 1970 to 2026 — 56 years of being the country the world comes home to.
🏆 Three World Cups. One nation. México eterno.
