The 70th Nantucket Christmas Bird Count with the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, The Maria Mitchell Association, and the Linda Loring Nature Foundation is almost here! 🎉🐦

This time-honored tradition that brings together birdwatchers of all skill levels to contribute to valuable bird population data. This year’s event will take place TOMORROW, and participants will be divided into teams to count as many bird species as possible within the Nantucket count circle. We can't wait to see everyone out and about for the bird count!

Haven't had a chance to stop by the Nantucket Historical Association Festival of Trees this year? There's still time! 🎄

The display will be available for viewing at the Whaling Museum until Tuesday, December 31st. You don't want to miss this beautiful and festive display of trees. Stop by Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve they will be open 10 am - 3 pm.

There is one week left until the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce annual Red Ticket Draw! 🎟️🎉

Every year, the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce encourages shopping local for the holiday season and promoting the sustainability of island commerce. Participating Chamber member businesses give out one red ticket for every $25 spent. On Tuesday, December 24th at 1 pm, 6 lucky winners of $1,000, and 1 extra-lucky winner of $5,000 will be chosen at random from the multitude of tickets.

Join The Maria Mitchell Association tomorrow evening for their Full Moon Nature Walk! 🌕🎉

Joanna Roche will lead you on a peaceful one-hour walk (up to 2 miles on uneven terrain) under the light of the full Moon. Discover the legends and narratives of the past and present. Enjoy the tranquility of the quiet night sky and learn about our Moon's current themes and its important symbolism.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be canceled and participants notified. This walk is designed to be interesting for adults and children ages 8 and older. Dress for the current weather conditions and bring your flashlights or headlamps!

The Nantucket Historical Association is ready to celebrate the holidays this year with their annual Festival of Trees! 🎄🎉

The preview party is scheduled for this Thursday, December 5th with the entire display opening to the public Friday, December 6th. Each year, community members, local merchants, nonprofit organizations, artists, artisans, and school children design magnificent trees displayed in the Whaling Museum for visitors to enjoy throughout the season. You don't want to miss this beautiful and festive display here on island. ❤️🎄
