Old Town Rig Down is almost here! ✨

September 11th & 12th, Old Town Rig Down is taking over Historic Downtown Nacogdoches with incredible show trucks, live music, food, vendors, and the can’t-miss after-dark truck light show!

But Old Town Rig Down is about so much more than the trucks. ❤️ Not only do the net proceeds go right back into our community to support local nonprofits, but this event also brings thousands of visitors from across the United States to Nacogdoches—giving them a chance to experience our town, eat at our restaurants, shop our local businesses, and see what makes the oldest town in Texas so special.

When you support Old Town Rig Down, you’re supporting local causes, local businesses, AND helping put Nacogdoches on the map. 🙌

Mark your calendars — the 5th Annual Veterans & First Responders Golf Tournament is almost here, and it's one you don't want to miss.

⛳ Shotgun Start: 7:30 AM & 1:00 PM

Registration is $700 per team and includes green fees, lunch, player gifts, and drinks. Prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams.

Every dollar goes directly to local veterans and first responders through the Nacogdoches Hero Foundation and The American Legion Post 86.

Fourteen days. Three fires. One dedicated crew. 🇺🇸

Today, August 18th, marks the final working day of a two-week deployment for our Nacogdoches Fire & Rescue crew, who answered the call as part of TIFMAS Strike Team 184 (Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System) — alongside engines from Lufkin, Texarkana, Smith County ESD2, and Longview.

Since deploying on August 4th, they’ve fought the Bear Hollow Fire near Jacksboro (~900 acres), the Cardinal Fire in Henrietta (~110 acres), and the Bufford Creek Fire (~3,025 acres) between Graham and Breckenridge.

We want to recognize our Nacogdoches crew: Sean Black, Brad Barnes, Josh Southerland, and Garret Lowery led by Strike Team Leader Jason Tobias.

These are the neighbors who leave home and head straight toward the fire to protect people they’ve never met. Thank you for your service, gentlemen, we’ll be glad to have you back home soon.

What a day. Thank you to everyone who came out to our ribbon cutting, celebrated with us, and stuck around afterward to learn more about the volunteer opportunities we have.

Getting to this point took a lot of heart and a whole lot of support from the businesses and individuals in our community who believe in what we're doing. We couldn't have done it without you.

This is only the beginning. We're excited to keep showing up for the veterans, first responders, and their families right here at home, and we're grateful to have so many great people standing with us.

Here's to what's next.
