Despite a bout of chilly rains on Saturday morning, a crowd had gathered outside Elks Lodge No. 1943 in Myrtle Creek to get a first glimpse at a new feature

The work has begun on our Mini Mural project! “The Unknown Neighborhood” is a design of a nature scene with an underground neighborhood of creatures and critters.
We held a contest for youth artists in our area. We received a bunch of great designs and this one is the winner! You can find our muralist out on Main St and First Ave currently painting!

A huge thank you to the Elks Lodge, our President Shane Kelly and his wife Kayla for painting, the Main Street Myrtle Creek Association, the Myrtle Creek Tri City Area Chamber of Commerce, all of our committee volunteers and the community for the support!

This Saturday, we will have a Mural Reveal event for the Elks Lodge mural at 10am. The artist and some board members within the Mural Committee will be present to answer any questions and talk about future projects!

🎨 Myrtle Creek Mural Reveal!!

Join us as we celebrate a major milestone for our community and our committee - the unveiling of our first public mural created by the Myrtle Creek Mural Committee!!

Come see this beautiful new addition to downtown, meet fellow community members and help us celebrate local art, creativity, and community!!

Thank you to the Myrtle Creek Elks Lodge for allowing us to paint their building!!

🎨 Bonus Activity: A mini mural will be actively painted during the event by one of our muralists on the electrical box at Main St. and First St. This is part of a Youth Art Contest we held in June. The winning mural design is named “The Unknown Neighborhood.” Stop by and watch the artwork come to life!

The winner of our very first Mini Mural Youth Contest is….”The Unknown Neighborhood” by Destanie McMillen

Congratulations and Great Job!!!

This brilliant mural design has fun little images within the image itself! The longer you look at it, the more you see. It’s such a fun concept too!

This mural design will be painted on an electrical box on Main St and First Ave in Downtown Myrtle Creek by one of our committee muralists!

We are very proud of the young artists who submitted their designs. All of the submissions will be uploaded to the page soon to celebrate their creativity and interpretations of “Nature is Your Neighbor” and “Unknown History of Myrtle Creek”.

This mural will be painted on June 27th, the same day we estimate the mural on the Elks Lodge building to be revealed! Stay tuned for more & Follow our page for updates!
