📣Deadline Extension!!
Thank you to everyone who has submissed their art design to the Mural Committee. We have recieved some really cool art concepts. Since we have seen a huge increase in people picking up templates this past weekend, we have chosen to extend our deadline.

New Deadline: Friday, June 5th at 5pm
Templates are available at and can be submitted at these locations:
✨Friends of the Myrtle Creek Library
✨The Regal Raptor Thrift Store
✨The Vault Entertainment Center

We would like to give kids the opportunity to submit their art with a little more notice.
*If you have already submitted your design, thank you! You are still eligible to submit another one, now knowing the extended deadline.

This is a final deadline as we need to give the muralist time to familiarize themselves with the winning concept and prepare to paint.

Please share and get the word out that these young artists have a bit more time to participate in this community art contest!!

Since our deadline is extended, the time of our winner being notified will also change. Please watch our page to stay updated on details and notifications. Thanks!

🎨 Creativity has the power to shape not only our walls, but the people and communities around them by providing connection, confidence, expression, opportunity, therapy, inspiration…

When young people are given creative spaces to explore, incredible things happen — they begin to see that their ideas matter and that they can help shape the community around them. 💛

That’s part of why the Myrtle Creek Mural Committee exists. We believe public art can bring people together, inspire creativity, and create moments that make our town feel a little brighter and more connected.

Every mural starts with imagination - and imagination often starts with simply being encouraged to create and express how you experience the world.

We’re excited to continue building opportunities for local artists, youth, and community members to be involved in bringing more art and color to Myrtle Creek. 🎨✨

The Myrtle Creek Mural Committee is inviting young artists (ages 8–18) to take part in our Mini Mural Youth Contest—a chance to design a mural that could be brought to life right here on Main Street!

How It Works:

The young artist will sketch and color their design on our drawing template to create a wrap around piece of art for an electrical box located at 1st St and Main St in Myrtle Creek.

One mural design submission will be selected by our committee board. A professional muralist, provided by our committee, will then paint the winning design onto an electrical box downtown, making it a lasting piece of our community. 💛

Runner up submissions will get a shout out on our page.

(It is completely free to enter this contest!)

Or

The Myrtle Creek Mural Committee was established by a small group of community members in the fall of 2025. We are passionate and energized to come together as artists and creatives to bring murals to Myrtle Creek! We all believe that introducing more vibrancy and creativity throughout town will brighten our community and spark imagination in our youth!

We are excited to make our debut and begin the process of building a strong foundation to bring many murals and art opportunities in Myrtle Creek, Oregon.

Thank you to our board for their time, ambition, imagination and determination so far. The best is yet to come!

There’s something powerful about a town that feels alive and vibrant.

Our mission is simple, but it means everything to us:
To bring new life and vibrancy to Myrtle Creek, to transform everyday buildings into something you can’t help but notice, to help local businesses stand out in a way that feel more inviting, more visible and to spark curiosity as a community.

But it’s more than paint on a wall.

It’s about inspiring the next generation to imagine bigger, create freely, and see their town as a place full of possibility. It’s about honoring the history that built these streets—while adding new stories for the future.

We want people to smile when they walk downtown. - To slow down. To look around. To feel proud of where they live.

Because when a town looks alive… it starts to feel alive too.

And that’s something worth building together. 🎨
