🔥 It's HOT... and the drought is making it even harder for our wild friends. 💧🦝🦊🦉

If you're able, please consider putting out a shallow dish of fresh water for wildlife. During periods of extreme heat and drought, a reliable water source can make a huge difference.

A few important tips:
🐾 Place it in the shade. Water sitting in direct sunlight can become dangerously hot.
🐾 Avoid metal pans or dark containers that heat up quickly. Ceramic, thick plastic, or other light-colored containers work much better.
🐾 Clean, sanitize and refill it regularly. Standing water can become dirty, grow algae, or attract mosquitoes, so giving it a quick scrub and fresh water every day is best.

This simple act of kindness can help birds, squirrels, rabbits, foxes, opossums, and so many other animals safely make it through these challenging conditions.

A year ago this month some very bad people were committing heinous acts by throwing black kittens out of cars while they were driving around town. 🥵
We rescued one of those tiny kittens which was a true miracle.
It was a Sunday afternoon when a selfless Good Samaritan found this teeny baby laying in the grass by the mall. She thought she was deceased at first, but fortunately, that was not the case. I saw the post and offered to take her and we picked up the little baby who needed bottle feeding that evening; a decision that changed her life.
One of our fosters offered to take her, who later adopted, after we had her completely vetted and this little kitten, Prudence has a truly happy ending. We know of others who were not so lucky, 😩but Prudence's story is one to celebrate.
Happy one year together Prue and family! May your bond continue to grow stronger. 😭 ❤️🎉 You are one lucky kitty! 🐈‍⬛
