Our Mission
Rec City is a Christ-centered community committed to empowering a reconciled
people to impact the world for Christ. Our Why
Founded in prayer and guided by Scripture, Rec City exists to fulfill the Great
Commission found in Matthew 28:19–20. Jesus calls His followers to go, make
disciples, baptize, and teach—and this command shapes our purpose and our
practice. In a city with many chur

ches, we recognize that many people have grown
disconnected from church and the things of God. Rec City was established to be a
place where individuals can grow spiritually and naturally through authentic praise
and worship, sound biblical teaching, and genuine community. WE ARE A CHURCH OF IMPERFECT PEOPLE SERVING A PERFECT CHRIST. We are committed to honoring God in all we do, keeping worship and the Word at the
center of our gatherings. We believe the Word of God has the power to transform
lives, restore hope, and bring lasting change. COMMUNITY AND OUTREACH ARE ESSENTIAL TO WHO WE ARE. Our faith extends beyond the walls of the church as we actively serve our community,
share the love of Jesus, and meet real needs. We believe changed lives change
communities, and reconciled people—empowered by Christ—can impact the world for

What a DAY at Rec City! 🙌🏾

Community Day was more than an event—it was a powerful move of God! Worship was incredible, the atmosphere was filled with the presence of God, and hearts were transformed.

And the greatest celebration of all…

38 SOULS GAVE THEIR LIVES TO CHRIST! 🙌🏾🔥

That’s what it’s all about! Every prayer, every song, every act of service, every conversation, and every sacrifice was worth it for those 38 lives. Heaven rejoiced, and so did we!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to our Church Administrator, Dominique Bankhead, Mother Sherri Walton Steele, and their entire team for all of the work, preparation, and love they poured into making Community Day a success.

And to the entire Rec City family—THANK YOU! ❤️

We are truly a family, and Community Day was a beautiful picture of what happens when everyone comes together, serves together, worships together, and moves together with one heart and one assignment.

We didn’t just have Community Day… we experienced the presence of God, served our community, and watched God save souls.

38 lives. One family. One mission. One powerful move of God.

Yesterday, Dr. B preached “Welcome to Your Winning Season!” Now… hold on to that word all week.

And yesterday, 38 souls gave their lives to Christ during Community Day! 🙌🏾😮‍💨🙌🏾

THIS is what it’s all about. Souls being saved. Lives being changed. People encountering Jesus.

When you’re facing a situation that seems impossible, remember that God has already given you what you need to win.
