A Message from our very first recipient:
Hey everybody
My name is Jordan Hull
I was the first recipient of K9 Jaeger foundation and a deep personal friend to Jonathan Jacobs.
Service dogs are amazing and yes, I’ll agree that humans don’t deserve dogs because they love us so fiercely and unconditionally. The power of a service dog can bring to anybody let alone a veteran or first responder is nothing short of divine and that’s exactly what my service dog Artemis was to me.
I first got Artemis as a seven week old puppy and I remember it like it was yesterday. I picked her up from the Grand Rapids airport October 18, 2019 and she was such a small squishy little puppy and immediately fell in love with that little dog.
She has been by my side through thick and thin for the past seven years and couldn’t imagine a better companion in my life 🥹
Sadly, that all came crashing down February 12, 2026 when I was notified by my girlfriend that she had been acting funny so the following day I brought her into the veterinarians office
It was not good news
I was informed that Artemis had a tumor in her spleen about the size of a tennis ball and within a 36 hour period it had ruptured causing her to bleed out internally, so I made the decision to end her suffering and let her go peacefully, which has to be one of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life.
The silence of my home is louder than any noise imaginable, and it is excruciatingly painful to wake up every day, knowing I won’t see her again.
However, I know that she was suffering long before she showed signs so I’m happy my baby girl isn’t in pain anymore.
I could not have been more blessed with the years I had with her in truth be told if it wasn’t for her. I don’t think I would be here. I owe everything to the foundation. They were there with me when I got the news and they were there two hours later when she laid her head on my chest for the last time and quietly passed on in peace.
To those who knew her, I want to thank you all for the time and loved you showed my dog
To those who did not, she was everything you can ask for in a companion and a partner
To the foundation itself, I could spend the rest of my life, thanking you for what you would given me and it still wouldn’t feel enough from the bottom of my heart. I truly appreciate what you’ve done for me. Thank you so much. 🥹
