The sweet potato debacle has turned into a sweet potato success! We pulled up a plant today so I could stop worrying about whether or not all the work was for naught. We'll give the rest of them until the end of the month in order to increase the yield as much as we can, but I am so happy to know we will definitely have sweet potatoes for Fall CSA!

The tomato surplus has continued! If you are still looking for a half bushel or full bushel of tomatoes send me a message. I have romas and celebrities, both available for $20 a half bushel and $30 a full bushel. Pick-up times are flexible, we can work out a time that's best for you!🍅

Did you know walking can help you maintain or lose weight? Walking is an approachable exercise that can help you maintain a healthy weight. And that’s true whether or not you can carve out time for long walks.

In a small study of women with overweight or obesity, researchers compared the effects of long bouts of walking with shorter, more frequent bouts. The women who took two 25-minute walks a day lost more weight than those who took one 50-minute walk per day. REMINDER: Join us for our weekly walk at Marsh Field (1800 Peck Street) from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM on FRIDAYS.

Today during MPFH, we made these beautiful fruit tarts! This simple recipe uses fresh berries, kiwi and oranges on top of toasted bread with a delicious spread of cream cheese mixed with honey. Today, the YMCA Cooking Matters program gave us an extra special twist with mixed berry cream cheese and it was 🤌🤌 SO good!

If you'd like to join us and the Muskegon YMCA during our next session, contact us here or by email at [email protected] or by phone at 231 242 3407! We are looking forward to cooking with you!

It's that time of year when fresh berries are starting to be in season and usually more affordable! Check your local grocery store or farmers market to see what types are available. Check out our website for fun ideas to make with fruit.
