We are here! The Muscatine Lions Club awarded two, $1000 scholarships to the following 2026 Muscatine High School Seniors: Leonora Loos and Toni Stansbery.
Leonora plans to attend college to pursue a career in athletic training. She has always loved sports and the science behind body movement and strength training and hopes to help kids love and continue playing sports.
In addition to being busy with school, sports, and music, she has worked at Loud Thunder Scout Camp and Berckey Insurance and Finanacial Services.
She wore her silver cord at graduation representing over 160 hours of community service throughout high school. She earned this through her work at It Takes A Village Animal Rescue and Resources events, working at Lion Club pancake breakfasts and soup suppers. Other volunteer hours came from helping at basketball games, basketball and soccer camps, orchestra camp, Living Lands and Waters Million Trees Project, Faith United Church yard sales and the summer Spark Program at Jefferson school.

Toni plans to pursue a career in welding. She began her training at MHS and will continue this fall at Muscatine Community College.
Toni is all about community service and volunteerism and has logged 196+ sliver cord hours since 2022. With the Lions Club she has designed and helped with the Lions Trunk or treat at Addington Place, helped serve and clean up at club pancake breakfasts and soup suppers.
She has also volunteered for United Way, RAGBRAI, spent a summer as a Jr. Zookeeper at Niabi Zoo, helped with Special Olympics, VFW grounds cleanup, and two years with Grace Lutheran Church’s literacy program. Other work took her to It Takes a Village fundraiser events, various family fun nights at Jefferson Elementary, school concessions, and VIVA Muscatine. Congratulations Leonora and Toni!

We are here!! February 15th was International Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. The Muscatine Leo’s Club is not official yet, however the 7 out of 10 members needed to start a charter met anyway to make 4 tie blankets to donate to the Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City.
Next month we plan to meet to paint rocks to place in various places around town.
