Today, we had lunch with someone who holds such a special place in our hearts.

She has been like a daughter to our team for years, and getting to see her thriving, embracing recovery and healing, and walking confidently in her purpose is a beautiful reminder of why we do this work.

There is something so powerful about watching someone discover their worth, embrace a new way of living, and experience the unconditional love of God. To see her growing, healing, and stepping into all that God has for her is truly a gift.

This is what restoration looks like. This is what hope looks like. And this is why we never stop believing in the lives we have the privilege of walking alongside.

Today, our hearts are full of gratitude for how far she has come and excitement for all that lies ahead. God is so faithful! 🙏🏼🩵

We have a big goal in front of us, but we believe we can reach it together.

As we look toward the end of the year, our goal is to raise $100,000 to support the work we are doing in our community. So far, we have raised $37,124, leaving $62,876 to go.

We started thinking about our community of 2,900 followers and what could happen if we all came together.

If each person gave just $25, that would be $72,500!

We know not everyone will be able to give, and that’s okay. But if you can, we’re asking you to join us in the $25 Challenge with a one-time gift.

THE WORK YOU DON’T SEE. THE LIVES WE ARE WORKING TO IMPACT. 🩵

We want to share something important about Beloved Haven.

Sometimes, organizations are recognized by their names, but the depth of their work remains unseen. We believe it’s time to change that.

At Beloved Haven, we go where the need is.
We enter detention centers to provide a life-skills curriculum that addresses issues that can have a profound impact on a person’s life and future. We facilitate conversations and learning around healthy relationships, the connection between trauma and addiction, vulnerabilities to exploitation, spiritual fulfillment, and goal setting.

These aren’t just topics in a curriculum. They are opportunities for reflection, awareness, growth, and change. They create space for individuals to better understand themselves, recognize unhealthy patterns, explore their strengths, and begin thinking about what is possible for their future.

And our work doesn’t stop there.

Through our street outreach, we meet people right where they are. We reach beyond the walls of an office and into the community, connecting with individuals who may be experiencing difficult circumstances and need support, resources, and someone willing to show up.

We believe people deserve to be seen beyond their circumstances. They deserve opportunities to learn, grow, heal, and envision a different future.

This is the work of Beloved Haven.🩵

It is often quiet work. It may not always be visible to the broader community. And because people don’t always see it firsthand, they may not fully understand the need for it or the impact it can have.

But this work matters.

It matters when someone begins to recognize their worth. It matters when someone learns to identify unhealthy relationships or understand their vulnerabilities. It matters when someone begins setting goals and considering new possibilities for their life. And it matters when we reach someone who might otherwise be overlooked.

We cannot assume that everyone understands what we do. That’s why we’re sharing this. Our community needs to know that this work is happening, that the need exists, and that the people we reach are worthy of investment, compassion, and opportunity.

We invite you to look beyond the name and understand the mission. Learn about our work. Share our story. Help us bring awareness to the needs we address and the people we serve.

Beloved Haven is committed to meeting people where they are and helping create opportunities for where they can go.

The work deserves to be seen. The mission deserves to be understood. And the people we serve deserve to know that their community cares.

Coming Together for Our Community!
We're excited for our upcoming community event-a time to connect, serve, and make a difference right here in our community.
As part of the event, we'll also be coming together to pack outreach bags for our Street Outreach Program, providing essential items and a little extra care to individuals in our community who are going through difficult circumstances.
Every bag represents more than supplies-it represents compassion, dignity, and a reminder that someone cares.
We hope you'll join us, bring a friend, and be part of something that makes a meaningful difference. Together, we can turn community support into real impact!

Beloved Haven is proud to welcome Brandee Gorby to our Board of Directors! 🎉
Brandee brings more than 10 years of experience in human resources, business development, operations, and helping build and grow startup companies and nonprofit organizations. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources and has built her career around developing people, strengthening organizations, and creating opportunities for others to succeed.

Service has always been an important part of Brandee’s life. She has remained active in her community through roles including youth leader, soccer coach, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for Elizabeth City. She is also the owner of B Blessed Bakery, a local business born from her own journey of rebuilding, perseverance, and faith.

Brandee’s passion for Beloved Haven’s mission is deeply personal. Her story has not always been an easy one, and she understands the realities of addiction, difficult circumstances, starting over, and finding hope when the way forward feels uncertain. These experiences have strengthened her desire to help others—especially women—understand that their circumstances do not define their future.

As a single mother, business owner, and woman who has faced obstacles of her own, Brandee believes every woman deserves to know that she has options, her story matters, and there is hope beyond her current circumstances.

She looks forward to serving on the Beloved Haven Board of Directors, using her professional experience and personal journey to further its mission, share hope, and help women build healthy, flourishing lives.🩵
