Okay Military Moms — I have something you really want for Mother’s Day!! ☀️❤️

Summer Camp for your Bay Area Military Kids!

We are excited to officially announce the launch of Camp Moffett!

One military child envisioned a summer camp on Moffett Field for military kids — a way to give back to the community that has supported him for so many years. When he brought the idea to the Bay Area Military Network, we immediately said YES.

Because the need is real.

Military families in the Bay Area face some of the highest childcare and summer camp costs in the country, often without access to the traditional programs found on larger installations. Camp Moffett was created to help bridge that gap by providing an affordable, fun, and community-centered summer experience for our military children.

☀️ 5 Weeks Offered
☀️ 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
☀️ After Care Available
☀️ Just $25 per child/per week
☀️ Volunteer-led with support from local teen leaders and community partners

Also open to Veterans, NASA, and DOD Civilians.

Spots are limited — sign up today! ❤️

Yes to all of this.

Yes to all of this.

Respectfully…no.

No one "signs up" to this life fully understanding:

Moving every 2-3 years and somehow calling it an “adventure", or solo parenting during a stomach bug.

Rebuilding friendships over and over again, or explaining to your kids why mom or dad missed another birthday, game, recital, or milestone.

Holding down an entire household during TDYs, deployments, underways, trainings, and last-minute "hurry up and waits".

Losing jobs, restarting careers, and constantly "rebranding" yourself, while becoming the default parent, emergency contact, household manager, and emotional support system for everyone all at once.

Most of us didn’t know what we "signed up for".
We just fell in love with someone who serves.

We've adapted. Sacrificed. Pivoted. Started over. Held our families together through the chaos and kept showing up anyway.

So honestly, military spouses deserve a whole lot more than: “Well…you knew.”

We get it because we are YOU. We are spouses. We are grateful, tired, lonely, anxious, overwhelmed, hopeful, proud, powerful...just like you.

So today, instead of carrying it all for everyone else, maybe "sign up" for something for YOURSELF. Today is YOUR day, enjoy every second.

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Hi, this is Benny and Vienne(my oldest)—Mountain View High School students, military-affiliated kids, and both applying to the National ROTC scholarship board—working to turn an idea - CAMP MOFFETT - a Military Kid Summer Camp into something that will directly impact our Bay Area military community.
This is more than a camp—it’s a community-built solution to a real problem - affordable summer camp for our Military Families.

We NEED your support to help make it happen. All Volunteers will run the camp. However, we need funds to purchase supplies, safety equipment, snacks, arts and crafts supplies, etc.

More dog vibes today! 🐾 Dogs on Deployment supports military families with dogs and cats during deployments training and PCS moves. They can help connect you with trusted volunteers to care for your pets and may offer grants to help with moving pets during PCS.
They also provide other pet support, so it is worth checking to see if you are eligible and what help may be available.

These scholarships are NEVER fully used in our area.

Last year, the Army literally had to give scholarships back because Bay Area students didn’t apply.

💥 College paid for
💥 Schools across the country (not just California)
💥 Leadership training
💥 A Reserve commitment option

I do NOT regret using my Army ROTC scholarship to attend Norwich University ❤️ It opened doors, built leadership skills, and gave me experiences I never would have had otherwise.

Please share this far and wide. Our California Bay Area students deserve to know ALL of their options — especially when some local high schools are not interested in sharing military pathways.

If your student is even remotely curious about ROTC, have them reach out. There are opportunities sitting unused.

Let’s not send scholarships back this year. 🇺🇸

Looking for a scholarship? A way to give back to your community?

Check out the Army Reserve Minutemen Scholarship program, and how you can apply for a scholarship while serving in the Army Reserve part time and attend school full time.

We are thinking about it for our teens this summer!

https://extension.purdue.edu/4-H/get-involved/military-teen-adventure-camps/index.html

Would you like to spend time whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, winter camping, backpacking, exploring the environment, running ropes courses, or practicing wilderness skills? What if you could do these activities with other military youth just like you?

So many feeling around this article. ❤️

For decades, a military spouse’s paycheck, if it existed, was framed as “extra” income. But today, that framing is outdated — and inaccurate.
