Public safety should have equal meaning and application for all members of our society. Too often it does not. Communities of color have a tarnished experience with law enforcement. Trust between communities and law enforcement is at an all-time low. This lack of trust strains police-community relationships and consequently, undermines public safety. WORK UNDER WAY
IgniteJustice is bringing private sector experience and resources to bear on police-community interactions. Initially focusing on San Jose, California, IgniteJustice has conducted extensive quantitative and qualitative research and analysis about police-community interactions and the results of such interactions on some members of the community. With the data from our work as well as research on nationwide approaches to police-community interactions, IgniteJustice is developing innovative solutions that respect and include all parties involved to ensure change. The solutions are aimed at rebuilding trust, improving police-community interactions and improving the quality of life in the community. Check back periodically for updates on our work and proposed solutions. GET INVOLVED
