About the author:
Mountain Home Arts Council

Mission: Mountain Home Arts Council entertains, enriches, and educates the community by promoting and presenting varied artistic and cultural events. MHAC was started as a performing arts series in 1977, and has progressed to an arts council so as to include all of the arts: visual, literary and performing. The Arts Council has been involved in the Mo

untain Home community for thirty-two years. Some of the programs and services provided by MHAC include scholarships for local students, acting as a coordinator between community groups and artists, and presenting a series of events that bring professional performers into the community that would not otherwise be available to this area. MHAC is managed by nine elected officers; one part-time salaried executive director; and over twenty volunteers whom represent the community.

10 local visual artists will trade their own original pieces with 10 local musicians/songwriters to then create new original pieces inspired by the other artist’s work.

These visual and audio art pieces will be showcased along the walking path in the StoryStroll panels. The community can scan a QR code to listen to the music while enjoying a photo of the visual art piece.

The Art & Music Cross Pollination exhibit will be available for the entire month of July.

If interested in participating, please submit a photo of your original visual pieces or a recording of your music on an MP3 format via email to Jessica ([email protected]) at the Mountain Home Public Library no later than May 31st.
If chosen, you will receive an art piece chosen randomly via email on June 4th.

If you submit a visual art piece, you will receive a musical piece and
then create a new visual art piece inspired by the music you received.

Submit a photo of your new art piece for display no later than June
27th.

If you submit a song, you will receive a visual art piece and then
create a new song inspired by the art piece you received. Submit your new song no later than June 27th.

The library is willing to take a photo or record music, if needed.
