As we conclude today’s Mental Health Awareness 5K Walk, the Mt. Vernon NAACP would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Thank you to every participant who walked, ran, donated, encouraged others, or simply showed up in support of mental health awareness. Your presence helped demonstrate the power of community and the importance of continuing conversations surrounding mental health.

A special thank you to SSM Health Illinois for providing hydration stations along the route and helping ensure our participants stayed safe and hydrated throughout the event.

Thank you to FOOD for the SOUL for serving our community with delicious food and refreshments and for being a valued partner in today’s event.

We are especially grateful to our volunteers, whose time, energy, and dedication helped everything run smoothly from start to finish. Events like this would not be possible without your willingness to serve.

Finally, we would like to recognize Trenda S Meyer, Chair of the Mt. Vernon NAACP Restoration & Resilience Committee, whose vision, leadership, and hard work helped bring this event to life. Your commitment to promoting wellness, resilience, and community engagement made today’s event possible.

Together, we took meaningful steps toward raising awareness, encouraging healing, and strengthening our community. Thank you, Mt. Vernon, for showing up and showing support. 💚
