Eleven years ago today, we cut a ribbon and opened the doors to The Bountiful House — our very first location.
What began as a simple after-school program, a safe place where students could come to feel loved, supervised, and seen, has transformed into something far greater than we ever imagined.
Every season has brought something new — new faces, new challenges, new stories. And yet, one thing has always remained the same: God’s love has been the thread holding us all together.
It has been FUN.
We’ve laughed until we cried.
Played hide-and-seek more times than we can count.
Danced.
Cooked side-by-side.
Traveled out of state (and sat in traffic for hours!).
Karaoke’d in the car.
Fed elephants and giraffes.
We’ve completed projects that reached far beyond our walls — sending funds to feed children and build communities overseas.
We’ve made unforgettable memories.
It has been HARD.
Nothing could have prepared us for just how challenging this journey would be. When you do life together, you share the highs — but also the heartbreaks.
We’ve walked through family separations, abandonment, neglect, violence, abuse, addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, su***de, CPS cases, homelessness, and loss.
We learned quickly: it’s not all fun and games. It’s real life. And it’s really hard sometimes.
It has been FAITH-BUILDING.
We started in faith — and we continue in faith.
We’ve never fundraised or asked for money, yet month after month, we’ve watched God provide in miraculous ways.
Sometimes it’s a child offering coins.
Sometimes it’s a stranger mailing a check for thousands of dollars. We have never been in debt. Every bill and every salary has been paid.
God has provided — every single time.
It has been BEAUTIFUL.
There is nothing like watching God pursue and love these precious students.
We’ve cherished every meal, every conversation, every milestone.
We’ve watched some of our very first kids grow up and start families of their own. We’ve hosted birthday parties, graduations, weddings, and baby showers.
What a gift it has been to walk through life with them.
To our incredible community: thank you.
Thank you to every church, every donor, every volunteer, every prayer warrior.
Thank you to each person who has given your time, your love, your resources.
Thank you for loving our kids.
Here’s to all God has done — and all He has yet to do.
