🦁 DISTRICT 2-X2 LIONS CLUBS — HELP US FIND OUR NEXT OUTSTANDING YOUNG LEADERS!

The 2026–2027 District 2-X2 Opportunities for Youth Contests are approaching, and we need the help of every club in our District to spread the word!

📣 Reach out to the high schools in your community and encourage local juniors and seniors to participate. Contact counselors, teachers, administrators, youth organizations, and families to help identify students who would benefit from this opportunity.

Students may participate in:

🩺 Diabetes Awareness Essay
“How Youth Can Advance Diabetes Awareness”

🎤 Drug Awareness Speech
“Social Media and Drug Exposure”

🤖 Outstanding Youth Contest
“Can AI Technology Make Us More Human?”

💰 District 2-X2 Scholarships
🥇 First Place — $500
🥈 Second Place — $250

First-place District winners advance to the MD2 State Opportunities for Youth Contest, where scholarships of $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 are awarded in each category.

📅 District submission deadline: January 18, 2027
💻 District Contest: January 30, 2027 via Zoom

Share this flyer with your local high schools. Talk with counselors and educators. Post it on your club's social media. Most importantly, personally encourage high school juniors and seniors in your community to participate and offer to sponsor them in the contest.

🦁 We had a fabulous time at the Titus County Fair! 🎡

The Mount Pleasant Lions Club enjoyed connecting with so many wonderful people in our community! Throughout the fair, our Lions were proud to:

👁️ Provide FREE vision screenings.
♻️ Share information about eyeglass recycling.
🏕️ Promote the amazing opportunities available through Texas Lions Camp.
🤝 Meet neighbors, make new friends, and share how Lions serve our community.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our booth, visited with us, and learned more about what Lions do! 💙💛

A big thank you to Lion Kris Groda for inviting Jesse Moser, Assistant Administrator of Home of Recovery and Restoration, to be our guest speaker at today’s Lions Club meeting! 🦁

We appreciated the opportunity to hear from Jesse and learn more about the important work being done through Home of Recovery and Restoration.

Our club meetings are about more than fellowship—they’re an opportunity to connect with local leaders, learn about community needs, and discover new ways we can serve together.
