Forgotten Eagles Inc. Chapter 3

It was a cloudy and cool day at the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival but lots of people stopped to check out the tractor we’re raffling off this August - and many great folks bought tickets!

Highlight today was Angie Pickell (Jim’s wife) being patched in! So happy to have you part of our group serving veterans with critical needs! If you have a heart for helping veterans with a great group of people come join us! (No motorcycle needed- we’re a veterans helping group, not a motorcycle club, although some of our members do have bikes and ride!)

You don’t have to be a veteran to join, most of us aren’t, but we do have some wonderful veterans, too!!
Get your raffle tickets soon- 🚜 we’ll be in the Shepherd Parade this afternoon handing out American flags!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

We also have other chapters around Michigan and need volunteers to help in areas where help is needed! Check us out!

We are so pleased that our Forgotten Eagles Chapter 3 has again been selected to receive the proceeds from the Penny War/Pie in the Face event for the month of March by the Electrolux Professional Group in Weidman MI! Thank you all so much!!

I am reaching out because we would like to make a donation again this year with the proceeds from our Penny War / Pie In the Face event we are running during the month of March. The entire plant really enjoys knowing that we are helping the Veterans in our community, and we really appreciate how communicative and transparent the Forgotten Eagles are with where and how funds are allocated, so they do the most good.

From December 13th-
Our Christmas gathering was so nice- we held it at the Denton Township Hall in Prudenville where Dave serves as Supervisor.
We filled up on pizza, breadsticks and also dessert (thanks Amy!)
Gift Exchange was full of fun and laughter with the “stealing” from others- and a great time was had! What a great group of people we have!!
Rich handed out our new Raffle tickets for our 2026 Raffle- a Mahindra Tractor with cab is 1st prize- so get your tickets early! They will still be only $20 each!

I neglected to take a photo of all the wonderful placemats that Weidman Elementary made for the veterans Thanksgiving dinner the Forgotten Eagles held yesterday at SAGINAW VA hospital. Such a sweet gesture of appreciation to our veterans there!! All the veterans loved them! The veterans who weren’t able to come down for the dinner still received a placemat for up in their rooms!
Terry read this poem before dinner also! Thanks to all the sweet 2nd graders at Weidman Elementary and to their teacher Jen Huffman for this honoring of veterans. It sure brightened the day for all of us there.

A Thankful Day!

State Forgotten Eagles Annual Thanksgiving dinner for patients and staff at Aleda Lutz SAGINAW VA Hospital today.

Always a delicious dinner served to the veterans there and thankful to visit with the veterans who have served our country who are currently hospitalized.

Checks were presented from funds donated on our annual RAM rides around
Michigan.

A great day at Island Park for a delicious picnic and presentations! Amy again outdid herself with great food!
Troy and Becky Forbes came to present our group with an amazing check from their Triathalon they held this summer!
We are honored they have chosen us to use their generous funding to help our Michigan veterans and their families with critical needs! What a blessing they’ve been to us and continue to be! God bless you, Troy and Becky!!!

Electrolux Professional Group Inc held a company picnic and raised funds with a dunk tank and gifted Chapter 3! We appreciate this gesture so much to go toward helping our Michigan veterans, and their families with critical needs!

Our oldest member of Chapter 3 took her last peaceful breath this morning. Up until the last couple years, she always came to the memorial cleanups and pulled weeds and did what she could to support the Forgotten Eagles. Her dedication came from the loss of her oldest son, Gene, in Vietnam in 1968. We remember her with thankfulness for all she meant to so many. Rest in Peace Anna Mae Smith Kunst Dolloff!🙏🇺🇸❤️🙏

This great company chose our organization to be the recipient of the funds they raised at their company picnic, which featured a dunk tank!
