Scouting in Mount Joy, PA

This weekend at OA Weekend, two of our Scouts and two of our adult members from Troop 39 Mount Joy sealed their Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow through service, leadership, and dedication to Scouting values. We also had two Scouts helping throughout the weekend in support roles.

We are proud of everyone who represented our troop so well. Congratulations to all who participated and earned their Brotherhood!

Last week, Troop 39 held its Court of Honor, celebrating scouts for their achievements. About 15 merit badges were earned, one scout advanced to Life rank, another reached Tenderfoot, and two new scouts earned their Totin’ Chip. Congratulations to everyone on their accomplishments.

Annual tradition at Camp Crissman!! The Scouts had an awesome time—games, rank work, hiking to spot animal signs and plants, and even a bonus find of tadpole eggs! Add in a flag burning ceremony, hanging out, cooking meals, and s’mores, and it was a great trip all around.

Several of our Scouts from Troop 39, participated in the Railroading Merit Badge at the Railroad Museum in Strasburg along side the troop from Columbia. They got to learn about the different freight and passenger trains and their purpose through a tour of the museum and even got to work together as a team to put together a mixed freight train and run it.
